I brought this pile of Denyse Schmidt charm squares that I cut from all the DS prints that I had. I cut an equal number of white squares.
I decided to make hem into HSTs and then design from there. While the boys were napping, I started marking sewing lines on the white squares.
As I mark each one, I layer it with a print square.
I have almost half marked. Then I will stitch first and then cut them apart. I will end up with 264 HST blocks. Then the fun begins!

Quite a while ago, I won a gift certificate for the Fat Quarter Shop. I used it recently. Two of the things I bought were this mini charm pack and small cutting mat.
To make this little quilt, I cut each of the squares in half.
To randomize my pieces, I put them in this plastic container and shook them up!
I will be sewing them together like this:

I cut a bunch more hexies for the quilt in progress that I showed yesterday. 
I threw a bunch up on the design wall, but they aren’t mixed up enough.
I pulled them down and put them in a basket to mix them up better. Then I’ll put them back up.
I was asked how big these are. The finished length is just a bit over 5 inches.

I had some questions the last time I shared this. This is the template I used. I think I bought it on eBay, but it was years ago.

For better or worse, my Scrappy Trips Quilt is done! I gotta tell you, as I ran out of good combinations, toward the end, these blocks got even uglier!
But I forged ahead and finished so I could at least fold it up and put it away for a few months!
This top finished at 96 inches square and has 64 blocks. I had 4strips leftover. It was hard to find a good p,ace to get pictures of this behemoth.
Not all the rows are showing in the picture above. In the one below,you can see how much iverhangthere is. This is a queen size bed.
I hope I like this better when I get it quilted!

So much has changed in my life over the last month, that I really didn’t know what to expect as far as how much sewing I would get done. So I kept my goals pretty conservative. Here’s a recap:
I want to piece a secret top that is a bit of a puzzle. I won’t be able to share, but I am adding it to my list because I want to get it done. Not even started!
I want to get my Denise Schmidt 36 Patch top done. I cut strips for this ages ago. Done!
I want to get my Blueberry Park Quilt top finished. Done!
Two out of three isn’t bad. Especially since I got several other things done. Like this baby quilt top.
And this one.
I’m quite happy to have this tumbler top off my UFO list.
I have two more finishes for the month that I will be showing this Friday and next.
My parents are here this week and hubby will be here for three weeks this month. Add in Christmas and I’m thinking I won’t sew nearly as much! But here are my goals anyway:
1. I want to finish Daughter #2’s QOV top.
2. Finish my mini Dresden Fan.
3. Finish the 30s Ohion Star top.
4. Make something out of the Minnick and Simpson jelly rolls I brought with me.
We are keeping Christmas very simple this year. Maybe it’s a new trend for us! I finished my Christmas decorating. Want to see it?
That’s it! One small tree, no ornaments! Might leave it up until Daughter returns from her deployment though. That will feel like a Christmas for sure!

I mentioned that my parents are visiting this week. That led to a bit of rearranging. I decided they would be most comfortable in the master bedroom, so I moved myself and my sewing stuff to the guest room. Here is the view from the door.
Since I needed the mattress to sleep on, I bought some Command hooks to hang up my design wall.
I made this quilt for Daughter #2 back when she finished her year of serving in Americorps.
I am enjoying the luxury of watching TV while I sew. I’m hooked on Acorn TV, a subscription service showing all Britiśh shows. I’m working my way through a series called Where the Heart Is.
Also, I am woefully behind on responding to comments and I apologize for that. Please know that I read and appreciate each and every one, even if I am unable at times to respond to them all.

Remember last summer, when I cut these bits for a leader/ended project?
I used them to make these hour glass blocks.
Then they sat until I started packing for AZ. I finally decided on a layout and did a bit more cutting.
And now, I’m putting them up on the design wall.
My parents are flying in today for a visit so I doubt I will get much sewing in this week. But this is ready to go in the event that I get a few minutes here and there. I’ve been trying to get the big projects on my list done before Mr. Wonderful comes for three weeks in December. I won’t be sewing as much then either. I also plan to have him take finished projects back home with him.
