Upholstery

I just realized that I never shared this finished project. Remember when I picked this mid century bench off a curb? Turns out it was a design by noted Mid Mod designer, Arthur Umanoff.

After a huge team effort by Daughter #3, SIL, and me…..

It is done! I love the white leather that Daughter #3 chose, but I’m not anxious to work with it again. 😆

What a difference! It’s far from perfect, but they are happy.

Have a great day!

Black and White

Mr. Wonderful and I went hiking at White Tank Mountain while in AZ. I decided to play with photos in black and white while we were there.

Have a great day!

Dollhouse Chronicles

Now that the messy work is done, the dollhouse has moved upstairs.

I haven’t been home enough to work on it much lately, but I was asked for a tour. So here it is as of now. You will see that there is much more to do.

I’ve had so much fun with this! I want to add trim around the windows and add baseboards, otherwise the house itself is nearly done. There is plenty of decorating left to do though. Someday it will have rugs, curtains, and pictures on the walls.

Have a great Saturday!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Twins

And they’re done! These pics appear rather washed out, but whatever.

They are very similar, but not identical.

I swear this backing looked gray in my sewing room!

I actually labeled them.

Haves great day! Have a great day! 😆

Two at a Time

I was able to get both baby quilt tops pieced and I decided to quilt them both at the same time on the long arm. I used a backing twice as long as I needed firone and the same with the batting and loaded it up.

This is the panto used.

I quilted as usual until I got near the end of the first top.

Then I basted the next top right up close to it.

This is the first bit of batting off a new roll and it was a bit shaggy on the end.

I used my Glide foot which moves smoothly over bumps and such and doesn’t flip the edges over.

I just continued quilting and advancing as though it were one really long quilt.

Today I’ll be binding! Have a great day!

Hmmmmm…….

I bought this little quilt a number of years ago. As I’ve mentioned before, tied quilts are not my favorite.

But this is just charming and I couldn’t leave it. It has some issues, such as this paint splotch.

But overall, it is in good shape.

Of course, I had to open and take a peek inside. It has some nice, clean, fluffy, cotton batting.

So, should I take it apart and hand quilt it? Or close it up and leave it alone?

Have a great day!

Almost Amish QAL

Lori at Humble Quilts has started another Quilt Along! These are the fabrics I’ve chosen. I decided to use hand dyed fabrics from my stash.

The first step involves making four patches. So I’m using this die.

I stacked my fabrics up and pressed them, one on top of the other.

Then it only took seconds to cut strips and a few minutes longer to sew one strip set of each.

Then I accordion folded the sewn strips on the die and ran them through again.

And I was soon ready to sew the four patches.

I’ll be ready when the next clue comes out. There is still time to join! Just click the link above to head over to Humble Quilts and get all the details.

Have a great day!

DWMonday ~ Baby Quilts

I’ve needed to get these quilts done for a month! We have a new set of twin boys at church. I decided to use up the rest of these fabrics to make them.

I’m using this die from Accuquilt .

I wanted the quilts to be similar, but not exactly the same. Here are my tentative layouts.

My goal is to finish these this week. Have a good one!

Arizona!

Oh, how I love this place and these faces! Here are some random photos from our trip. Little L is such a happy guy!

Big L is quite interested in coconut trees, so we bought a coconut so he could see it in real life. He bravely tasted the milk and coconut. We very carefully used a hack saw to cut it open so he could use the shell for a drinking glass.

We went to a LEGO Discovery Land in Tempe.

I got to see my beautiful grand pups!

And Daughter #2.

Dollhouse Chronicles

I have a new addition to the dollhouse this week in the form of a tiny set of dishes!

There are four of these enamel ware place settings so kindly gifted to me by blog reader, Susan.

Aren’t they adorable? They also fit perfectly on my little shelf!

Thanks again, Susan, for your kind heart and generosity. Have a great day, everyone!
