Have a great day!
Where did summer go? I love fall, but I’m not ready for summer to end. I had a couple trips this month and each time when I got home, I had a hard time finding my sew-jo. Here are the goals I had set.
1. Quilt five QOVs. Done!

2. String blocks. Done!

3. One UFO Not Done.
4. Two baby quilts. Done!

What else did I do?
I quilted and finished this vintage top.

And finished this little yo-yo quilt.

I also had a couple trips this month to Arizona and Chicago. I’m ready to be home for a while!
My goals for October are as follows.
1. Quilt five QOVs.
2. Finish the jelly roll quilt.
3. Make one QOV to gift to a friend.
4. Finish one UFO.
5. Make one baby quilt as my reserves are low.
6. Baste and start hand quilting one vintage top.
7. Finish knitting a pair of mittens.
Who knows what other trouble I might get into? Have a great day!
It has been A while since I shared progress on this project. That is because there hasn’t been any! I finally got back to it this weekend. My goal is to make ten per month. This is my current stack of 60.

I use “ugly” fabrics as my foundation and flip and sew strings from my dad’s shirts onto the foundation.

Then I trim the excess to the size of the foundation.

Oops! Looks like I had a little hitchhiker scrap. 😄

I want this quilt done before Christmas. It will be a gift to myself. Have a great day!

I’ve had this jelly roll for ages. It is a line called Mirage by RJR.

I cut some white strips to go with it. I figured that would bring some calm to it.

I’m sewing strip sets like this.

Then chopping them into 10 1/2 inch squares.

I had to try a few things on the design wall, but won’t get serious about a layout until all my blocks are done.

Have a great day!
Last weekend, Mr. Wonderful and I visited Chicago.

It was my sister’s birthday and we spent the weekend celebrating together.

It has been a long time since I visited Chicago.

The highlight of our trip was my first Broadway play!

I’m sure it won’t be my last. Have a great week!
Even though the other house isn’t totally finished, I decided to start on this one. So far it has had a coat of spray primer.

My plan was to make one room into a bedroom and the other into a combination living/kitchen.

I decided to try out these kitchen pieces that I got with the big house.

Hmmmm….it appears that I don’t have much room here. Perhaps it wasn’t built to 1/12 scale. Time to rethink things a bit, but problem solving is part of the fun! And, thanks to Terri, I may have an idea. She suggested making this into a quilt shop. Since I don’t have any mid mod furnishings for it yet, I think I might do this! Long term, I still want to go mcm, but it might be a quilt shop first.
Have a great day!
This week has been all about longarming Quilts of Valor. This beautiful top was sewn by Kathy.

And this stunner by Nadine.

Have a great weekend!

This lovely top was pieced by Pat. I believe it is a Fons and Porter pattern.

This is the panto I used. It is available from Urban Elementz .

I love how it looks on the back.
Have a great day!

I’m back to work on QOVs this week.

I’ve had this panto for a while, but hasn’t tried it out until now.

I love how it looks on this top expertly pieced by Val.

Have a great day!
I have Part 2 of the quilt along hosted by Lori at Humble Quilts all done!

I cut some extra strips while I was at it. Just in case there are more four patches to come.

I also made and froze some tomato sauce from our garden tomatoes. I think there will be enough ripening yet for another batch.

And I haven’t shared any pics of this little girl for a while. Winslow has decided she really loves the sheepskin we brought back from Iceland.

Have a great day!
