Welcome to my little corner of the blogging universe! I’m so glad you are here! It is my turn to share some of my holiday favorites with all of you.

I love going through my quilts and pulling out new ones to decorate with, especially at Christmas. Here are some that I am using this season. As you walk in the front door, you will see this quilt. No, I didn’t make this! We bought it when we visited Hawaii.

It’s hard to get a straight shot where it’s hanging.

This is my family room where we spend most of our time at home. The quilt on the couch was purchased in an antique shop. It’s in good, sturdy condition. Yes, we use it to snuggle up while watching TV! The string quilt isn’t exactly Christmas, but it’s a gift I made myself from my dad’s shirts. It will always be out.

The vintage 9 patch under the tree was given to me by a precious friend. I use it every year as a tree skirt.

This is the other end of my family room.

The quilt on the rack in the corner, is an antique top that I hand quilted. The small bow tie on the table was also a vintage top that I hand quilted.

Here is another vintage quilt that I purchased. I love how worn and soft it is. I need a vintage hanger for that vintage baby dress, but I love having it out on display.

A few years ago, I moved the dining table to the family room and turned the dining room into a play room for the grandkids. This quilt was made during Lori’s Palmateer Pointe Quilt Along.

Here is my guest room. Another very old quilt on the bed, and another quilt along quilt on the doll bed.

The red and green in these blocks make me think of Christmas! I do take this fragile beauty off when we actually need the bed for guests.

And now it is time to share a favorite story with you regarding this horribly pieced, rather ugly Christmas quilt. You may think it is a poor photo causing this hot mess to look crooked. Actually, it is the miracle of photography making it look this good. I think it is a good 2″ longer on one side. These rows run downhill at such a slant, it is a wonder they haven’t slid right off the quilt. I remember the frustration and hormonal cloud during the piecing. I whacked things off to make them fit. I added pieces where things looked too short. I just wanted a finish, you know? For years I called this my PMS quilt. Anyway, my kids loved it and every year, this bit of humility hung in my bathroom during the Christmas season. No closeups on this one. I wouldn’t do that to you.

A few years ago, Daughter #3 told me how much she loved this and I gave it to her. A few days later, I received this text from Daughter #1.

Unbelievable, the worst quilt I ever made, was apparently the family favorite! Daughter #1 got her own Christmas quilt that year.
And that is my favorite Christmas quilt story. It still makes me smile.
