Dollhouse Chronicles ~ A New House!

I know, I know, I said only one dollhouse, maybe two, and here is number three. Sometimes my collections get out of hand. Anyway, I found this one on Facebook Marketplace for $4 and my dear SIL picked it up for me.

This one is pretty small. The scale is 1:24.

My first quandary is the paint scheme. I kind of like the natural wood, but there are some glue spots that likely won’t take stain. Paint might be a better option.

My original thought was that this would be a perfect Laura Ingalls house. The inside is what I always imagined the LittleHouse in the Big Woods would have looked like. Painting the exterior would move this into a different time period.

I won’t be working on this any time soon, so I have time to think on it. Have a great day!

I’ve been waiting for this!

Okay, not this quilt. I finished this a couple years ago for Daughter #1. But that quilting? It’s a pantograph from Urban Elementz.

I buy all my pantographs from them. Their service and selection can’t be beat. And twice a year, they have a sale that can’t be beat! And it’s time!

Yes, I’ve been working on my wishlist for the last week, knowing this would be happening soon. I still have to narrow things down, I have 77 items on my list. Ummmmm….can’t afford all that! Not even on sale! 😂. I buy pantos twice a year during this sale.

One of the things I like about Urban Elementz is that for an additional $2 charge, you can order pantographs in a custom size. I love this! Here is an example:

This panto is called, Malachite. It is one of my favorites. The default size is 10.75 inches wide, shown on the left. I had it resized to 16 inches since I have a bigger longarm now. That is shown on the right. This quilts up very fast and it still looks great!

They now also carry fabric, including these Dream Big panels.

I also wanted to remind you that several of the Accuquilt sales end today. They’ve had such great sales, I was tempted to put in a second order!

Cut Time, Quilt More

And as always, Fat Quarter Shop has Flash sales every day.

Full disclosure, I am an affiliate for these three companies. So far, for only these three, although I have been asked by others. I will only act as an affiliate for companies I use and love myself. When you purchase through my links, I receive a small kickback from them. You do not pay any extra. It helps offset the costs of the blog.

And I do not usually have as many posts about them as I have had the last two weeks. This is just the time of year when they all have the best sales. So I feel obligated to help (enable) you all to find the best deals. 😂

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Straights and Arrows QOV

I just love this Quilt of Valor! The top was pieced by my good friend Zenia, from A Quilted Passion .

The pattern is a Zenia original called Straights and Arrows. It is available on her blog.

I quilted it with Military Gold Glide thread and used a panto from Urban Elementz called Amoebas Gone Wild.

Zenia provided the backing and binding and I finished it up.

In January, it will be presented to a deserving veteran.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Something Old and New

Over a year ago, I cut a bunch of pieces out for a snowball quilt. I finally started sewing a few blocks.

I thought this would be a good piecing project to fiddle with over the holidays.. I have no deadline, I’ll just make a few blocks here and there. I used this die from Accuquilt .I love how accurately the pieces line up.

Half of the blocks are light in the middle with dark corners, and half are dark with light corners. This is how I am pressing.

I’m off to watch my boys now, but this is all waiting for me when I get back.

The Accuquilt sales continue through midnight tonight.

Have a great day!

November/December Goals

Time is flying by! Here are the goals I set for November.

1. Need to make that QOV! Done! As a bonus, I finished a QOV top that was pieced by my friend, Zenia. Both of these will be shown soon.

2. Quilt 5 QOV tops. Done! Actually, I was only sent two this month, but I also quilted the two mentioned above and three small quilts for the VA hospital. So I’m calling this done.

3. Baste another top for hand quilting. Not done. I decided I would keep working on my Dutch hexies instead.

4. Finish my little hexie quilt. Done!

5. Finish one UFO. Not done. However, I made great progress on my Dutch hexie UFO, so I’m not too upset.

What else did I do?

I finished my string quilt.

And I finished this Christmas quilt.

Time to think about December. I would like to:

1. Make swap blocks.

2. Finish my Dutch hexies quilt.

3. Prep another handwork project for the holidays.

4. Start working on my vintage Many Trips UFO.

5. Choose another UFO to work on.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday ~ Labels

I finished the QOV I was working on late last night. This morning, I am stitching labels.

And not too soon, I’m presenting this one today after church!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We enjoyed good food and time with family. Daughter #1 brought her puppy over and the three musketeers had a great play.

Have a wonderful day!

Dollhouse Chronicles ~ MCM

I made a table this week to go with the chairs from Shasta.

The table top looks so thick! Oh, well!

I also made the shelves in the kitchen wider. I think it looks better this way.

And since I put up my Christmas tree, I decided to put one in here too.

I also sealed the floors using this:

I wish I had done that before I spilled paint on them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Too late!

Have a great day!
