No matter what is going on in the world today, it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus is risen. That changed everything! Happy Easter from our house to yours.

I’m making slow progress on this old UFO. The squaring off is nearly done on this end.

I will add another row of green hexies so none of the flowers touch the binding.

I counted out how many more hexies I needed and got to cutting. This turning mat was helpful.

We’ve had some really beautiful weather this past week and I took advantage of it.

It sure doesn’t feel like Easter weekend, but I thinking changing things up a bit isn’t all bad. We will have a drive in church service. The mister is cooking for us, and there will be plenty of time today for quiet contemplation on what Easter really is.

The days all seem to run together lately.

I have been sewing masks, like everyone else. Here’s my dear son in law modeling one I made for my daughter. I think he needs his own! Lol!

I enjoyed this quirky book while I stitched.

Willy and Winslow have been enjoying walks.

Mr. Wonderful 3D printed a cookie cutter and made me cookies!

I love jigsaw puzzles. I’ve done this one before, but I’m about to start it again.

Big L made a robot!

I’m still working on these blocks.

I considered buying another jelly roll, but Bluprint has closed their warehouse for now. I ended up scrounging around in my stash for enough to make this the size I wanted. I sorted all my strips into sets so I could distribute the different shades.

This is what 16 blocks look like. I have 20 more to go.

I hope I don’t hate this when I’m all done. Ah well, I shall carry on.

I found lots of great madder prints when I started digging through my stash.

I used this die to cut my squares.

I decided to keep the light prints consistent, except for the triangles on the edges. I used this die to cut those.

It’s always amazing how much smaller it looks when you start sewing! I think you can see that my setting triangles were oversized. I did that so I wouldn’t lose any points in the binding. It didn’t take long to baste.

And then it was off to the deck for sone hand quilting.

I’m participating in another doll quilt swap (sorry, sign ups are closed). I’ve been trolling the interwebs looking at antique doll quilts for ideas. Then I saw this post on Barbara Brackman’s blog, Material Culture, about madder prints. It reminded me that I had this repro cheater print in my stash.

I’ve been wanting to use that cheater print as a small quilt back and it would be perfect for a quilt like the one above. These prints are not all madder prints, but I think they will work.

I’ll do some more digging in the stash before I start cutting.

Well, I finished the row I was working on last week. As is, it measures 60 by 76 inches.

I have 15 flowers left over. I couldn’t figure out where to put them. If I added another row, it would throw off the symmetry.

I asked a couple thousand of my closest friends on Instagram, and nearly everyone who responded said to stop and save the leftovers for something else. I have decided to follow that advice, and I am adding green hexies to fill in the gaps and square it up.
