Another QOV

Back to QOVs!

I picked up a half dozen QOV tops from my Stitching Sisters group last weekend. I’m starting with this beauty from Kathy D.

I love this scrappy top! This is the panto I am using.

It is from Urban Elementz. I buy nearly all of my pantographs from them. They have a great selection and great service. Doesn’t it look great so far?

I hope to get this one done today and the next one loaded.

A Little Twister!

A friend brought this sweet little flannel top to me to quilt. The backing was flannel too.

As soon as I saw it, I thought of this panto from Urban Elementz.

I use Glide thread in Celery for the quilting.

These blocks are tiny! She did a beautiful job of piecing and pressing this top.

This is the back and this photo shows the true colors the best.

Isn’t this adorable? I just love it!

DWMonday ~ Batik Scraps

Remember when I chopped up all my batik scraps?

I bought some yardage of this solid aqua and chopped that up too.

I used a 2 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch die to cut these on my Accuquilt studio cutter. I worked on sewing these while Zenia was here.

After sewing a bunch of twosies together, I put them up on the design wall.

Z and I both liked the second plan better so I went with that.

I got enough blocks done for one twin size quilt. I hope to get the blocks together this week.

You can meet the most wonderful people through quilting and blogging! Zenia and I have followed each other’s blogs for a few years. She blogs at A Quilted Passion. When I found out that she lived only a mile from my son in Arizona, it was only a matter of time before we met in person. Last winter when I moved out there, she was a true lifeline. She introduced me to friends, invited me over to sew, included me on quilty field trips. Before I came back to Michigan, we made plans for her to come visit me here. And last Wednesday, she arrived!

She made this adorable mini quilt for me.

How cute is that?

We spent some time sewing together.

And I tried to show her a little of Michigan.

We toured this lighthouse.

And found a quilt inside!

We walked in the woods a bit.

We hit up some quilt shops, talked blogs, family, and quilting, shared ideas, and scraps. Before I knew it, it was time for her to leave.

I’ll be seeing you in Phoenix soon, Z!

Jeeping Again!

Last weekend, Mr. Wonderful and I did our first trail ride with a group. There were ten Jeeps and about twenty people. We didn’t know anyone before we started, but everyone was very friendly and helpful. Most of the time we hit trails through the woods, but there is a “play” area tha we spent some time at. The mister likes to play with his drone and go pro cameras and he put together this video. The hills are a lot steeper than they look in the video!

Another UFO is done and dusted!

It is a very simple quilt, but I think the quilting adds that special touch that it needed.

You have to be careful with a panto like this, you don’t want to cut off any heads! This next picture shows the border colors the best.

It’s so hard to get a good photo of the back! BTW, this panto is from MeadowLyon Designs.

Stash

Peggy asked earlier this week about my stash. Here it is! Most of it is stored in these baskets from Ikea.

This is my layer cake stash along with some fat quarters and fabric panels.

Here are my charm packs and some FQ bundles.

This is yardage.

I keep these bolts under the cutting table.

It seems like a lot, but eventually, it all finds a home!
