This and That

It took three movies, but the quilt deconstruction is complete! I ordered Quilters Dream batting for it. Now to decide how to quilt it.

I’m still working on my leader/ender 4 patches. I’m up to 225 of 800.

This funky little angel block was made for a collaborative project. I made mine to reflect the fact that I used to be a librarian.

I found a little box in the sewing room this week. It had pieces cut for four of these 8 inch blocks in it. I’ve sewn the first up and will try to finish the other four this week. I have no idea what this will grow up to be, but finished blocks are better than random pieces floating around.

I took the girls to get groomed this week since the weather was finally warming up.

The next day it snowed again. Ugh.

Have a great weekend!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

winter just doesn’t seem to want to get out of here – it is just about spring though and I’ve got the daffodils to prove it. I like that block with the X in the middle – I look at that and think it might be a good one to use up some scraps

  2. WOW! I can’t believe how fast you got that deconstruction done! You are one focused lady!

    Hi Katy,
The girls are sitting there so nicely. The last one looks like she is nervous about getting her picture taken. I love the fabrics in that 8″ block, but with only four blocks I wonder what you had planned for them originally? It will be fun to see where they end up. ~smile~ Roseanne

Your churn dash top looks ready for new everything now. A lot of work, but worth it. The librarian angel is terrific! That’s a lot of 4-patches!

  5. The deconstructed quilt looks good. Quilting it should be fun. I hope you watched some good movies while you worked!
