I picked this pattern up recently. I think it is way beyond my skill level. But it is lovely! And the price was right.
It rained here recently. That is newsworthy in Arizona. This is the view from my sewing room. Today it’s supposed to be 97 degrees.
This meme describes my sleeping habits of late.
So this is what I downloaded to read when I can’t sleep. I still love these books! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read them.
I’ve been waited and waiting to see one of my cacti bloom. Thursday night, the blooms on this one opened! It was SO worth the wait!
The blossoms only last 24 hours and are most beautiful at night. So I sat outside in the yard for a very long time. I was thrilled to see it still there in the morning! It was already showing signs of wilting though.
I finished the two little quilts I made based on Lori’s Steppin’ Out class.
This one is my favorite.
I experimented with the quilting on this next one. Not real happy with the results, but I learned a lot.
I have the same backing on both. I actually loaded them on the same backing at the long arm.
I do rather wish I had doubled up on the quilting on this one.
I really enjoyed making these. Lori is a great teacher and her tips and tricks work, even if one is not good at following directions. Ahem….that would be me.
Some time ago, I picked up four FQ bundles like this for a song.
While reading Judy’s blog, Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, I was inspired! I grabbed these two dies and a cream solid and got to work.
All cut and ready to sew! Note: these are the pieces for just one block.
My version of this block finishes at 18 inches. I will make 16 blocks for a finished quilt measuring 72 by 72 inches. I’ll use up two of these FQ bundles, plus the cream yardage.
I think this will be perfect for a Quilt of Valor.
Lori from Humble Quilts had a Zoom class last Tuesday. It was so fun! We recreated a small vintage doll quilt. Of course, I cut too many pieces.
Hers was red and white. I came across the blue and black prints and decided to include those in mine.
I had plenty of pieces leftover, so I made another little top!
The class was only $10 and included the pattern. Participants were from Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. It was very relaxed and Lori is such a great teacher! I’m looking forward to her next class.
