I got the borders on the challenge quilt. Here is a really bad picture of a corner.
I also finished another row of hexies while finishing out season 1 of Lost.
Off to church and then family time with a bit more slow stitching thrown in 😊.

I am making progress on my QOV challenge quilt for the HMQS show in Utah next month. All the diamonds are sewn together for the center. I will add a narrow reddish border at top and bottom and then a wide outer border all around.
I hope to get the top done today and figure out the backing so I can get it in the frame tomorrow.
Since it looks like this outside, there isn’t much to draw my attention elsewhere.
Yes, that is fresh snow on the deck.
Sigh…..
Finally because it has been a long week and finally because the extra fabric I ordered for the challenge quilt arrived. I cut out all the pieces and put it all up on the design wall.
It will have borders also. I got five columns pieced before work today and hope to get the other five done tonight.

Small progress this week as I am working to get back into the swing of things at work and home.
The fabric I ordered to go with this should arrive today.

I got one album block finished yesterday morning before work.
And the next one ready to sew.
If I have something like this laid out and ready to go, I am more likely to make one before work each day. Little by little, this will get done!
While out in Arizona, Daughter #2 got me hooked on the show Lost. I realize I am very late to this party but I am enjoying it nonetheless. While watching with hubby last night, I got some work done on my hexies.
Before I go, just wanted to say thank you for all the kind comments you all left while I was out of town with my new grand baby. I apologize for not responding to each one as I like to do. It was just one thing too many to juggle at the time. I do appreciate each and every one that visits my blog!

We arrived back home yesterday morning after an overnight flight from Phoenix. I started unpacking and going through mail but really didn’t accomplish much other than a nap!
While I was gone, I did finally come up with an idea for my HMQS Quilt of Valor Challenge. Here is a sneak peak.
I ordered more coordinating fabric and have more diamonds to cut.
These are large 60 degree diamonds so the piecing should go fast once I get started. Good thing too as this quilt is due in Utah the beginning of April!
Back to work today and this will be an extra long week to boot. Time for coffee!

Not much sewing has been happening here. I am making a wee bit of progress on my hexie quilt.

I took these pics from the balcony at her apartment.
This quilt has been washed a LOT and I think it still looks pretty good.
We have been having a great time here with our kids. I am so not ready to go back to snow in Michigan!
Yesterday, Daughter #2 took Mr. Wonderful and me hiking in the White Tank Mountains. It was beautiful!
The grand dog was pretty tuckered out when we got done!
While visiting Daughter #2, I thought I would take pics of a very old quilt that I made for her. She has always loved dogs and back in about 1998, I found some great dog fabric and ordered it. We were loving in France at the time and someone that visited is hand carried it over the pond!
Here is the back:
She used this daily for years. I sent it to her last fall after she got her dog and now it is getting daily use again. Apparently the grand dog loves quilts!
