You’ve heard all week about my current project. Trying to read a pattern, not paying enough attention, too much on my mind, getting bored to tears with it…..

Finally got the blocks together and added scrappy borders to the top and bottom yesterday morning. At 72″ square, it was too big for a lap quilt and too small for a bed. I wanted it bigger so I could give it to the local women’s shelter. I decided to use poly batting since I have a big roll on hand and it is easy care for the recipient.

Gosh, this batting feels thick! I am no expert on poly batting being a cotton girl myself. My las roll was too thin and when I ordered this, I wanted something with a bit more loft.
But not this much.

Good grief, this is not a quilt, it is a comforter! Ugh.
Love the panto I chose but it is too tight for this batt and it doesn’t show anyway.

I had some tension headaches that required ripping and restitching.

I hate this batting. Did I mention that I have a huge roll of it?!?
I waited until all the quilting was done and then ripped and requilted using a big magnet to hold the quilt tight on the frame.

Oh and did I mention that this happened halfway through?

It is off the frame now and trimmed. I will use this for binding and the hand stitching will be my slow stitching this evening.

I hope it is relaxing and not disastrous in any way….not holding my breath.
Linking up with Kathy for Slow Stitching Sunday.
