I went to an estate sale at this gorgeous house last fall. It was a thrill just to walk through it.

Here is the back.

It was owned by a very prominent family in our town. I picked up this bolt of green fabric for $2. For the whole bolt!

It was wrapped in this brown paper with these notations.

It is a bit heavier than quilting cotton, but it doesn’t seem nearly heavy enough for upholstery fabric. But that color! I am chuffed to bits with how it looks with my tumblers.

I have it all ready to grab and sew.

I have no idea how many yards are on this bolt, but I’m certain I’ll use every single one!

I spent some time laying out my tumblers.

I had cut these gray tumblers to alternate with the prints. But it didn’t sing.

I had a piece of a green solid on the design wall and threw some tumblers up over that.

Now it sings! Time to change the plan. I grabbed this die and cut green tumblers.

The best part of this change in plans, is that I no longer have leftover print tumblers! I am sure I’ll use these gray ones at some point for a baby quilt. They would look great with pink prints, or maybe aqua. They don’t feel like a UFO to me.

My leader/ender top is all done, except for the borders!

And here are my leftovers. Two 1 1/2 inch squares.

And 160 2 1/2 inch squares. I’m sure they will be handy for something.

Time to choose a border and get this monster loaded! I also need to come up with a new name. Hmmmm….

You know the old story. I had these tumblers on my UFO list.

I figured if I cut a few more and some background, I’d have a quick baby quilt.

I have what I need for that now. But I also have these left over.

I used my Accuquilt tumbler die to cut the pieces for this quilt. It’s one of my favorites.

I’m excited to be making progress on this old UFO!
