Funny Things Found on the Internet

Sometimes I take screenshots of funny things I find to send to my kids. Today, I thought I would share a few with you.

Anyone else watch the Super Bowl for the commercials? This one was the best for many reasons. I love Bill Murray! This is the full two minute version.

I hope I made you smile today!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Gather

This is a most satisfying finish!

I started the appliqué last summer while traveling. The verse is John 6:12. After Jesus had fed the 5,000, he told his disciples to gather up the fragments so nothing would be wasted.

The background of the front is random scraps of muslin. I also used muslin on the back.

I initially wanted a red binding, but I ran out. I am really pleased with this tan. It frames the top without competing.

You can really see the different muslins in this photo.

I’m enjoying this in my family room for the time being.

Have a great day!

QOV#4

This Quilt of Valor top was made by Val.

In the photo above, the quilting looks like bunting to me. Below is how it is “supposed” to go. It reminds me of Baptist Fans that way.

It is from Urban Elementz . Here is the info.

Here is the pattern info that Val sent.

Have a great day!

Little Hexie Quilt

Progress has been made on this little quilt. I added pieces to the ends of each row to square things up.

I pieced my rows and then discovered this. Ugh.

I’ve auditioned borders, but nothing is clicking for me.

Hmmm….

Have a great day!

QOV #3

Thus quilt top was made by Edie. It is a variation of theJelly Roll Race quilt. The fun part of these is that you never know how they will turn out!

I used the variegated thread on this one also.

This is the panto I used from Urban Elementz . I ordered a bunch of new pantos before Christmas and then totally forgot about them!

I had this scaled up. I think I would have preferred it in the smaller size. Sometimes it’s hard to tell.

Have a great day!

QOV #2

Marianne from my Stitching Sisters group pieced this lovely top. I do not have any pattern info for it.

I decided my red, white and blue variegated thread would be perfect for this top.

It’s hard to see it in these photos, but I looks really pretty in person. This is the thread I used.

This shows it a little better.

Here is the back.

And this is the panto I used from Urban Elementz .

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday ~ Gather

I decided to machine quilt this after all.

I’m thrilled with how the quilting turned out! Now I’m finishing the binding.

I ran out of the red I was using, but I think I like this binding choice better anyway.

Enjoy some Sunday stitching!

Dollhouse Chronicles ~ MCM

While wondering Hobby Lobby recently, I found a package of these tiny canvases.

You know I immediately thought of my dollhouses! I went online and found a cute mid mod picture and printed it to size.

I used this to adhere it to the canvas.

It wasn’t a total success. Printer paper and Mid Podge aren’t all the compatible.

It ended up with plenty of wrinkles. I prefer to think of it as aged. Anyway, I may do it over. I’m not sure yet.

I hung it with glue dots used for scrapbooking. Speaking of mid mid art, check out this painting done by Daughter #3.

I’m quite in love with this! Maybe I should just have her paint on my tiny canvas. Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Jeep Quilt

One of my goals for the month has been met. This baby girl quilt is done. It perfectly matched this hydrangea plant that Mr. Wonderful bought for me.

The colors are most accurate in the first photo.

This quilting reminds me of a topographical map. I so love this Jeep fabric!

Have a wonderful weekend!

TBThursday ~ Happy Early Valentine’s Day!

I made this little quilt that I call, Conversation Hearts, a few years ago. I love this little quilt so I thought I’d share it again today. I know it’s early, but I already have a finish scheduled for tomorrow.

I had this piece of fabric in my stash for quite a while and it was perfect for the backing

I used a double layer of batting on this one. One layer of Pellon 80/20 and a layer of a low loft Pellon poly on top. Glide thread.

Happy early Valentine’s Day! I hope you get to spend the day with those you love.
