QOV #12

I just quilted this top made by one of the members of my Stitching Sisters group.

I chose a panto that would look like wind around the eagle.

Here is the back.

This is the panto I used. It is available from Urban Elementz .

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday – Pyramids

I managed to finish this little quilt!

I quilted it with the walking foot on my Juki. I’m underwhelmed with my quilting job, but it’s done. The first three of the following photos she the quilt before washing.

I love this backing fabric. It lists Civil War battles.

The small triangles measure two inches on each side.

Here are the after washing pics. I think the crinkle that happens during the wash process helps to make it look more vintage.

That’s one more goal met for this month! Have a great day!

Carolina Blues

One of my goals for each month this year, is to make something that I’ve pinned on Pinterest. I was inspired to break open this layer cake by the little quilt on this blog post by Marianne Edwards. Marianne does such lovely work!

Here are my cut pieces.

I used this die set from Accuquilt to cut my pieces. I used the 2 inch and 4 inch dies.

The accuracy is amazing with these dies!

I hope to have this little quilt finished by tomorrow. Come back and see!

Have a good one!

Craft Night

Monday night was our second craft night with the gals from church. It was so much fun! We finished our string art and added lettering. Here’s mine.

I love my big sewing room. It was awesome to see it filled up with wonderful friends having a good time.

I finished my project ahead of time so I could do a quick demonstration at the beginning and then held a sweet baby boy so his momma could work on her projects.

At the rate this is growing, we might have to spread to other parts of the house!

Have a great day!

QOV #11

This top was pieced by Val. I just love it. I actually made a quilt in this pattern for daughter #1 a few years ago. You can see it here. I like Val’s version with the bigger triangles.

This is going back on the bucket list.

The panto I used is called Modern Wave 3. It is available from Urban Elementz . I love all the texture that it gives. BTW, this is a really great panto for a beginner. It is easy and very forgiving. I actually loaded this quilt side ways, you can use this panto either top to bottom or side to side.

Have a great day!

DWMonday ~ Puss in the Corner

I got all my blocks pieced together.

At this point, the top measures 78 by 90 inches. I had 9 blocks leftover. I hate having leftover blocks! So I decided to make enough to add one row to the width. I don’t like skimpy bed quilts either!

I hope to get these pieced and added today. I’ve also been auditioning border fabrics.

I like the last one the best, but I wanted to use this for something else. This top is not a priority to finish right now so I may just finish that last row and set it aside until I decide.

Have a great day!

Churn Dash Sunday

If my calculations are accurate, I have this quilt about 60% done!

See one of my repairs in that photo? Here it is.

The sashing fabric is pretty worn and in a few spots, I appliqued a piece of fabric over the top to repair it. I used a Paula Barnes Companion print. It isn’t an exact match, but the color is close and the print was the right scale.

After quilting, it blends pretty well. This will never be a valuable quilt. It is worn and still has some issues. These patches are just part of its story and journey.

I think it’s looking better than it did when I bought it and I’m enjoying the process. In the photo below, I folded one side over and that is covering most of the unquilted area. I did the second row in from the left last week. And yes, I’m working from the outside in.

That worked well on the last quilt I did like that so I’m sure it will be fine this time too.

Happy Palm Sunday!
