I mentioned before that this time of year makes me want to work in 30s prints. I started cutting out another quilt while cutting more pieces for my leader/ender project.

You might as well cut out for more than one quilt at a time!

This is one of the dies I’m using . I’ll also use my 2 1/2 inch square die.

After these were cut, I started in white squares using this die.

Now it is all kitted up and ready when I am.

In the process of digging through all my 30s prints, I found another UFO. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I only got 12 of these done on my trip. I read a book the whole way home. I hope to get a few more done today.

I really do like how it looks!

I stopped at my favorite fabric store while I was in AZ, but their inventory was quite low. This is all I came home with.

The top piece is wide backing.

I’ve managed to get this Liberty top done.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been in Arizona. I just got home. I appreciate all of your recent comments and read them all, though I didn’t take the time to respond as I should. Due to the Covid mess, I had many flight cancellations and delays and my trip was shortened by nearly half!

Here is Daughter #2’s house and my rental Jeep.

She and I did some fun touristy things like visiting this ghost town.

I loved spending time with my grandpups. They are as adorable and sweet as ever!

And I spent time with my wonderful son and these precious grandsons! We had so much fun! Big L told me over and over that he loved me and a couple times he told me I was “so cute!” ❤️ He’s a charmer! Little L has Autism. He is about to turn five. My heart rejoices whenever I’m able to break into his world and that happened quite a few times on this trip. When he says he wants to snuggle with Nana, my heart just melts!

Daughter #2 and I also visited Sedona. It is so beautiful there!

I’m still dreaming of buying a house out there so I can stay for months at a time. It is so beautiful there and even more so with my family. Have a great day!

I decided to piece this little quilt by making 30 of these blocks and then putting them together.

I’m loving the contrast of textures!

I might even hand quilt this just so I can feel it. 😊

Daughter #3 visited England and brought these Liberty charm packs back for me. She mailed them just recently.

The very next day, I got these lovely pieces in the mail from her for Mother’s Day!

I already had a small stash I purchased in Paris many years ago. I cut four 2 1/2 inch squares from each print.

I love Liberty prints! This one almost looks like a face. 😄

I’m thinking about a simple setting to really show them off. I think this Moda crossweave might be just the ticket.

They are so fine!

I also chose this to make maximum use of these precious bits. This is all the scrap I had from the charms.

I finished my little triangle quilt and still had a few scraps left over. So I cut them into 1 1/2 inch strips and stitched them end to end.

Then I sewed them together like a tiny jelly roll race quilt.

I had enough binding left from the HST quilt to bind this one.

These are the left overs that were swept into the bin after this photo was taken.

Time to quilt!

Since I’m traveling this month, I pulled out this UFO to work on. These hexies are cut from my small Liberty of London stash.

I plan to stitch them into these shapes.

I don’t yet know if I will add background, or just mash them all together.

I mark the seam lines as shown above. Below you can see my essential tools.

The back of that cutting mat has a piece of sandpaper glued on so I can mark seam allowances without the fabric shifting.

This is a traveling must have! It is called the Clover Dome NeedleCase. It holds up to ten threaded needles! It is from Fat Quarter Shop .

I’ve been trying to find all the little collections of scraps that I have squirreled away. This collection is left over from my Gee’s Geese quilt that I finished in 2016.

I used this die to cut as many 2 inch HSTs as I could.

I left the larger pieces intact since I had no idea where I was going with this.

Here is my pile.

I rarely do this, but I pressed the seams open. I knew this would be a small quilt and not subjected to the stresses of a large quilt. And since I had no idea of the layout, I couldn’t press do seams would nest.

Time to play!
