A Little Leader/Ender Project

I’ve finished all the blocks for my last leader/ender project, so I’ve started another.

I have no idea how big this will be. I’ve only cut out 30 blocks. They will finish at 4.5”.

These are the dies I used.

I love bow tie blocks. I wonder if I could actually make a bed quilt from these?

I don’t have a huge stash of these fabrics here in AZ, this project might need to travel north for the summer.

Have a great day!

QOV Progress

My blocks are done. I actually made 16, lost the photo!

This is the pantograph I’m using. I don’t have a big selection here in AZ.

I’m so thankful for this machine.

Have a great day!

Leader/Ender Update

I haven’t shared my leader/ender progress in a while. This is all the background squares I have left.

I don’t think the level in this bin has gone down any!

It would measure 60 by 72” if I stop now, but I’ll keep going until I run out of background squares.

Each square is cut 2 1/2” . I’m going to need to come up with another leader/ender project using this size.

Before I go, today AccuQuilt is launching new dies!

As always, along with new dies, come new deals! Click here to register for the launch party. Click here for all the latest deals!

A New Quilt of Valor

Some time ago, I picked up four FQ bundles like this for a song.

While reading Judy’s blog, Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, I was inspired! I grabbed these two dies and a cream solid and got to work.

All cut and ready to sew! Note: these are the pieces for just one block.

My version of this block finishes at 18 inches. I will make 16 blocks for a finished quilt measuring 72 by 72 inches. I’ll use up two of these FQ bundles, plus the cream yardage.

I think this will be perfect for a Quilt of Valor.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

Today I’m bindng the little quilts from Lori’s Steppin’ Out Class.

I’m using that leftover ugly binding on the red one.

I’m not happy with the quilting on the red and white one, but I learned a lot doing it. I’ll share the finishes soon.

Before I go, check out this gorgeous cactus!

And yes, I did stop the truck on the side of the road and run across a couple lanes of traffic to snap these pics!

Have a great day!

Humble Quilts Class

Lori from Humble Quilts had a Zoom class last Tuesday. It was so fun! We recreated a small vintage doll quilt. Of course, I cut too many pieces.

Hers was red and white. I came across the blue and black prints and decided to include those in mine.

I had plenty of pieces leftover, so I made another little top!

The class was only $10 and included the pattern. Participants were from Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. It was very relaxed and Lori is such a great teacher! I’m looking forward to her next class.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday

My challenge quilt is done.

I’m not thrilled with the quilting. Red or black thread would have been better, but I used what I had on hand.

I do love the backing fabric. I used a facing instead of a binding for this one.

It ended up about 30 inches square. I learned a lot making this. I might just do it again!

Have a great day!

March Wrap Up

It’s been a good month sewing wise! Here are my finishes.

The next two were not finished in March, but the patterns that I created for them were released by AccuQuilt this month. That meant I could finally share these finishes!

I wonder what April will bring.

Have a great day!

Challenge Part 2

Once I started working on this, I didn’t want to stop!

I got a small piece of this red and black fabric in a scrap bag and it set the course for the rest of the quilt.

I decided it would be the center and I would build it out Courthouse Steps style.

I’m loving it so far! Have a great day!
