Quilts Beyond Borders

This is what I have been working on lately:

I completed three more since the Nemo quilt. This is the strippy I was working on yesterday.

I meandered this one as it didn’t lay quite flat. Meandering helped to tame the beast!

I sued a panto on this one.

The panto is called American Flourish and is from Meadowlyon Designs.

I am linking up with V=Connie at Free Motion by the River for Linky Tuesday.

Design Frame Monday?

I am working on a top for Quilts Beyond Borders. This strippy top is perfect for trying out different quilting designs and trying out some of the templates I have purchased. I guess you could say that instead of Design Wall Monday, I am working on Design Frame Monday!

The green strip is only half done, I will make wiggly lines underneath the wave as well. I have a few rows to go and then on to the binding!

I am linking up with Patchwork Times for DWM.

An orange kind of day…

I got most of this top quilted yesterday and finished it this morning.

The colors aren’t quite right in these pics. When I got home from work, the canning started. I got 11 quarts of tomato juice done before falling into bed.

Today I hope to get some salsa made.

Hexies

I got quite a bit more done on the hexie project on the trip home on Monday. I pieced the tan diamonds for the next row and added th top row to the main piece. I have one more row of dark diamonds to add and then need to decide what to do from there.

Someone asked about preparing the hexagons. I do not use English Paper piecing. I mark my seam lines and do traditional piecing, here is the back of one diamond so you can see my piecing and pressing.

No sewing yesterday but I did manage to load a top for Quilts Beyond Borders.

Antique Shopping

We are heading home today after a wonderful week of exploring, shopping, family, and friends! I thought I would share with you some of the wonderful quilts I found in antique shops along the way.

I didn’t buy any of those but hubby bought me something even better:

Isn’t that arrow fabric great? There are 23 blocks and they vary greatly in size. I have some vintage shirting fabrics I will use to frame them and then trim them to the same size. They are all hand pieced.

I also got two of these little enamelware boxes to add to my collection.

Quilts from the Tennessee State Museum

Thanks to everyone for visiting and leaving comments! I am blogging from my phone and responding to comments is a bit clunky but want you all to know that I appreciate it when you stop by.

Wednesday we spent the day in Nashville. We found plenty to do even though I am not a country music fan. I really enjoyed the state museum and it was free! Here are a couple quilts from the Cracker Barrel Collection that were on display.

It has been a great day and it is not even over yet! First stop:

This is a dangerous place, ladies!

Next up was a wonderful lunch in downtown Paducah.

Finally, The Museum.

Sadly, no photos were allowed inside. The quilts were amazing! Not surprisingly, I liked the Civil War exhibition best. After that, we wandered around town for a while.
