Baby Quilt Progress

I finished this top and got it loaded up on the long arm.

This is the panto I’m using. It is available from Urban Elementz .

As you can see, the backtracking part of this isn’t easy. This is why I like to try out new pantos on baby quilts!

I’ll be able to show a finish soon!

Have a great day!

Baby Quilt

I received this little jelly roll as a freebie a while back. While waiting for the long arm parts, I decided to make a baby quilt out of it. There were only 24 strips and that included two white and two cream.

I set the cream strips aside.

I made some strip sets and set some aside for a scrappy binding.

I ended up with this. Too small for a baby quilt. But it could be added onto. Now, horizontal?

Or vertical?

I’ve already decided! I’ll share this finish soon.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

All the comments on my Pinterest post yesterday gave me such a good laugh! Thanks to all of you!

We had a garage sale here this weekend. They are so much work! Every time I say I’ll never do it again…… Anyway, I’m very much looking forward to a bit of slow stitching on the binding of the wedding quilt this afternoon.

I really love this backing fabric.

I only have one side left to stitch. Yay!

Have a beautiful day!

Pinterest Silliness

You know I try to tackle one Pinterest project a month.

I noticed that more and more often, Pinterest “suggests” posts for me. I find this rather annoying most of the time. But one popped up last week that required only one supply.

And since I had just changed the roll, I had one on hand. So I decided to try it out.

Can you even guess what this is supposed to be? It turned out harder than it looked.

This is supposed to look like a face! Lol! I would call this a total Pinterest fail! This is how they turn out if you know what you are doing.

They are still ugly! Why did I do this? Who knows? It amused me for all of ten minutes. And then it went into the recycle bin. Clearly, I need to stick to quilts.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Hour Glass QOV

I have another finished Quilt of Valor!

This was a pretty quick finish once I decided on the layout. It is just 8 inch quarter square triangle blocks.

I’ve had this backing fabric for ages. I remember I bought enough to back two quilts. Sadly, by the time I squared it up, I only had enough for one. I wish I had paid attention when it was cut.

Have a great weekend!

May/June Goals

Time to see how well I did on the goals I set for myself this month.

1. I must start and finish the wedding quilt for my niece. Almost Done! I will share soon. I just have to finish the binding and label.

2. Quilt any QOVs that come in. Due to the long arm snafu, I didn’t take any tops this month.

3. Make one item from my Pinterest boards. Done! I made this little quilt from vintage fabric.

4. Make a pillow for a grad gift. I’ve had the pattern for 9 months now. Not done! I sent something else. This might end up a house warming gift for her in a few months!

5. Finish the Quilt of Valor that I started piecing last fall. Done!

What else did I do?

I completed a baby quilt that I will share soon.

I made this jelly roll quilt.

I made another mini.

And I made another QOV that I will share tomorrow.

Heading into June now….

1. Quilt any QOVs that come in.

2. Make a quilt for Little L who will be turning three the end of this month.

3. Make a couple donation quilts.

4. Make one item from my Pinterest boards.

5. Finish my Puss in the Corner quilt.

That’s probably more than enough. Have a great day!

Little Vintage Bits

I have a road trip coming up next week. So I went looking for something small to hand quilt while traveling. I found this little foundation pieced bit that would make a lovely little doll quilt.

This little block could also make a sweet little doll quilt.

I also came across these blocks. I love these! But those faded bits bothered me.

So I did a bit of rearranging and added some pieces of vintage blue to fill in.

This now measures about 24 by 32 inches. It’s rather wonky, but I’m totally okay with that. I think it will be charming once it’s quilted. Time to baste and figure out the quilting design.

Have a great day!

Progress

I had hope to spend time slow stitching the binding on this quilt today. But instead of quilting, I’ve been enjoying family. I did decide on the sashing design.

Yep, feathers. I’m so predictable! But I do love it. Mr. Wonderful and I picked up these two cuties and took them to lunch the other day. Gosh, I love them so!

Have a great day!
