Moving Right Along…

I got the top together and I’m feeling pleased with how it is turning out.

Can you believe this happened? Purely by chance!

I decided to quilt this using pattern boards.

Time to bind!

Have a great day!

More QOVs

Yes, more. I had 12 to do for September and October so I’m not done yet! This beautiful top was pieced by Val.

I love the backing.

Here is the pattern info.

And the panto I used. There is a link on my sidebar to a Urban Elementz, where I purchase all my pantographs. It is an affiliate link.

Here is another by Nadine.

I think I have three more to go. Have a great day!

A Little Progress

I trimmed up these blocks and headed back to the design wall.

I just didn’t feel like making more so I set about trying to find a better way to make them stretch. Anneke was right about the stripes being too distracting. I think this gray will work better.

Of course, I ran out. So I picked another gray print to use for those last two corners.

Last weekend, I saw a quilt on Instagram by @janettebinder that looked like a perfect way to use my leftovers so I cut those out while I was in the sewing room.

Hopefully I can get this top together today and in the frame. It would be nice to have a finish this week.

Have a great day!

DWMonday

Remember these?

I’d forgotten them. Once I found them again, I made a few more. Then I decided to okay a bit to figure out how many I really need.

An alternate set might be good.

Too bright?

Too pastel?

Hmmmm….I think I’ll make a few more before I decide.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

Thanks for all your sweet comments yesterday. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that has felt this way. As I mentioned, I’m still working away on my Grandmother’s Flower Garden. This kind of quilting isn’t quite as tedious as I thought it would be, but that is not to say it isn’t.

This texture is worth it though.

I have 30 of 86 flowers done. It is good mental therapy.

Have a great day!

Restless

I have felt restless all week. The only project I have really focused on has been quilting my Grandmother’s Flower Garden. I found these blocks and thought about putting them together.

I love the blocks. Do I want to make more?

I’ve stalled out on my leader/ender project lately. I did managed to make a few more four patch parts.

I looked at this project from my UFO list.

I just looked at it, didn’t actually do anything.

And I have five more QOVs to work on.

I had E2 and E3 here one day this week. I did some housework and stuff for church. But I just plain wasted a lot of time doing who knows what. I think I need some inspiration.

Perhaps today will bring just that. Have a good one!

Never Forget

If my people who belong to me will humbly pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. (‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ CEB)

I made this quilt in the week following 9/11. The verse was machine quilted into the red stripes.

I never want another 9/11.

But I miss the people we were on 9/12.

Finish It Up Friday ~ Quilts of Valor

Two more quilted!

The back is actually navy. It’s so hard to get a good pic of navy!

Here is the panto I used.

And the name of the pattern.

Willy photobombed this one!

Love the grunge backing.

The panto.

And pattern info.

Both pantographs are from Urban Elementz. There is a link in the side bar. Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday

Good Morning! I am still working on Quilts of Valor, so I thought I’d show a few of my very first minis. These were all made by me back in the mid 1990’s. All were published in QUILT magazine but I am too lazy to dig through and find out which ones. This first one is all hand pieced and quilted. It measures 13 inches by 16 inches.

This little star quilt is also hand pieced and quilted. I remember working on it when Daughter #1 was at dance class so she must have been four or five. This measures 15 inches by 17 inches. The color is sadly off in these photos!  Imagine 30’s green and bubble gum pink!

My Sunbinnet Sue measures 18 by 21 inches. Each Sue is 3 inches tall. I shrunk the pattern to fit the vintage fabric swatches that I had. It is also all done by hand.

You can tell I was smitten with 30s repros fabrics! Hope you enjoyed this look back. Have a great day!

A Different Sort of Project

Before life got crazy on us, Daughter #1 gave me the neatest project kit.

I was afraid to do the painting for fear of messing it up, but I really wanted to hang it up. So yesterday I went for it.

There are different pieces to change out for the seasons.

I just love this! It was a really fun project. The assembly was super easy. She got it from a place online called Trendy Mama Boutique. Maybe tomorrow I’ll have some quilting to show.

Have a great day!
