Last weekend, Mr. Wonderful and I went hiking. It was the most beautiful day!

I love seeing flowers this tine of year.

We’ve loved spending time with with our boys.

Big L turns 7 this week! He looks so 🙌🏻 in his new glasses.

The mister and I found a lovely park to walk in at night.

A little friend I found in my backyard.

Sweet grand dog Bambi! Those eyes are something else.

I was asked about which way to run fabric through a die cutter. This is Accuquilt’s recommendation. I run scraps any which way through my studio cutter. I’ve yet to see if it makes a difference with the GO!

I’ve also been asked about my header photo. It is a page from Mister’s grandmother’s journal. I got to read it when I visited my sweet MIL one summer. I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of this page!

We’ve been living in a noisy house this past week as our roof was redone. Next big project here will be solar panels.

I’ve been looking at and thinking about these blocks on the design wall for the last several days.

If I put them together just like this, it will be too big for the doll quilt swap. I thought I might use alternate plain blocks and use fewer bow ties, but I don’t have much on hand here. Then I found a chunk in my bin of neutrals.

I like this! It might still be a bit too large, but maybe it will shrink enough in the wash.

Besides, I can make one to send and one to keep.

I started piecing my geese. And here is another reason I love my Accuquilt die cutter.

Every one turns out darn near perfectly.

Sigh….peaceful piecing.

I put them up on the design wall for a bit of play time.

It always amazes me how much they shrink up.

I think I have enough flying geese for a second little quilt!

I think we’ve all seen this darling little antique quilt floating around the Internet. It has been on my bucket list for a while now and I finally kitted it up while I was in Michigan.

Something I’ve been doing lately, is creating a note like the following on my iPad for quilts I’d like to make soon. I have no idea what the measurements are for the original antique quilt, but I decide what I want to do and make a plan from there.

This makes kitting up a breeze and I’m much more likely to move forward on a project if I’ve done this. These are the Accuquilt dies I used.

I cut way more pieces than I needed. Don’t we always?

I decided on this border fabric, but I haven’t cut it yet in case I change my mind on the design.

Having something kitted up like this is like a little gift to my future self. Have a great day!

I couldn’t wait to share this fantastic find! It is a gorgeous vintage Navajo rug.

Mr. Wonderful and I were out bumming around and stopped at a moving sale. A sweet elderly man was selling the house he had shared with his art collector wife. He had many lovely paintings, but this caught my eye and my heart. I promised him I would take good care of it.

It measures 54 by 77 inches. He knew his wife bought it more than 30 years ago and it was not new then.

It came with a heavy iron hanger and had these rings attached for hanging.

This border is fascinating!

I’ve been doing some research, but I’m clearly out of my depth here.

All I really know, is that I fell in love with it. The colors, the pattern, the sweet man that sold it to me. He was more concerned that the pieces went to a good home than he was about money.
