Inspiration!

My blog readers are just the best! Jan left me a comment last week about doll quilts for Christmas boxes. Yes! That was just the inspiration I needed to find my mojo.

I’m using some leftovers that have been in this bin for years.

I’ve decided to use my AccuQuilt 5” Qube and just play. I’ll see how many doll quilts I can make before before I run out of fabric or get tired of working with them.

I received this little die cutter from AccuQuilt for a project I was working on for them. I never expected that I would use it SO much. But I really do. If I’m using a die that fits (and most dies do), this is what I grab.

These are the dies I’m using for this first doll quilt.

I’m ready to sew….and really excited about it! Doll quilts like this that are made to be used by little girls…what could be more fun?

BTW, right now the AccuQuilt GO! Me starter set is on sale for only $89.99!

Also, I wanted to let you know that Connecting Threads has a great sale on precuts!

Don’t forget to use the promo code PRECUTS20 at checkout!

Have a great day!

TQC Update

I feel so unproductive lately. This little sew along has been just the ticket. I used this die for last week’s clue.

I just randomly grabbed scraps. Then matched them up, looking for a bit on contrast.

Super simple.

Ready for the next row.

Before I go, I wanted to let you know about the next AccuQuilt Live program!

Make sure you register here, so you don’t miss out on door prizes. I think I might “need” this die. 😁

Have a great day!

Slow Sunday Stitching

I have a few Quilts of Valor that need labels before they can be presented.

I order these from Spoonflower.

Remember these? Labeling is always my stalling out point.

But I want to get these done and delivered before September. I have a few others that are ready for labels as well.

Have a great day!

Book Report

I’ve read some good books lately. If you read, Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate, you will enjoy this.

I’m not sure how to classify this next novel. It is unlike any other I’ve read, but I enjoyed it very much. Just a good story.

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by this next author. Actually, I’m not sure that is the correct word for this book. It was riveting, sad, ultimately…..not quite triumphant…. Perhaps, satisfying?

This next one was a suggested title when a book I tried to download was unavailable. I loved it!

This is not a book, but a TV series on Amazon Prime.

Oh my goodness! The mister and I loved this! I just found out there will be a second season. I won’t miss it. It’s hard to find good TV shows and this exceeded my expectations.

Have you!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Plaid Chisels

Done! I do love my chisel dies, so useful!

While it isn’t red, white, and blue, this will still end up as a Quilt of Valor.

Have a great day!

Jelly Roll Project

I bought this jelly roll ages ago at Tuesday Morning. I don’t think these strips are all from the same fabric line. I do love the colors.

I’ve been trying to come up with a good use for this. I finally cut some strips from Kona Stone.

I thought I had an idea, but it feels quite boring to me.

Offsetting the blocks helps. But I’m still not in love.

Hmmmm….maybe I should do more cutting. Then again…..

I think I’ll just put this away for a while. Have a great day!

Bow Ties

I pieced all the blocks I could with the pieces I had cut.

The above shows the blocks I pieced this week. I think I actually have somewhere north of 120 blocks. I started piecing some rows, hoping to generate a bit of momentum on this project.

Yes, I see the one that is turned wrong! It may or may not stay that way.

Have a great day!

Arizona UFOs

Since I was taking stock, I thought I’d look at the AZ UFO piles.

Never touched these while I was out there this summer.

Didn’t touch this either.

I think this will be a good one to jump into when I get back.

One of these days……

I forgot about this one. The blocks are all taken apart so I can redo the top with the solid green.

There are probably more to find when I get back out there.

Have a great day!

TQC Sew Along

Part 2 of this sew along came out just when I needed a quick little project.

Again, I’m using dies from my 5” Qube, so that made things even quicker.

Ready for Part 3.

Before I go, I was asked what the potholder method of quilting was. Click here to learn more.

Have a great day!

Michigan UFOs

I’m still feeling the summer sewing slump. Getting sick didn’t help. I thought I’d inventory my UFOs in hopes of finding my lost sewjo.

This has languished,. Not having a deadline or decision on size hasn’t helped.

I love these blocks, but I’m stymied on the setting.

I made one of these Cleopatra’s Fan blocks and then stopped. I don’t know why.

Ah, remember these? There doesn’t seem to be enough blocks, but I don’t feel like making more.

Started this at least a year ago. I don’t remember where I was headed.

I think the bow ties are the most appealing project for me here. I guess I’ll sew those until I run out of bits.

Have a great day!
