A New Baby Quilt

The BFF of Daughter #2 is having a baby girl this spring. Such a great excuses to make a quilt! I had some left over charm squares and an idea.

I didn’t cut the charms at all. The HST blocks will finish at the same size. I used this die from the AccuQuilt 9” Qube to cut my triangles.

I don’t like skimpy quilts, so I’ve been thinking about how to make this bigger. Here is one possibility.

Hmmmm…. I hope to figure this out and get the top finished today.

Before I go, check out this AccuQuilt Live program happening today!

Slow Stitching Sunday

I’ve been doing a little bit of hand sewing this week.

Sadly, I discovered a problem.

Ugh. So unsewing is the order of the day.

In other news, I picked up this puzzle with Gee’s Bend quilts and could not stop myself from working on it.

This is my favorite kind of puzzle. It is like many small puzzles making up one large one.

I buy most of my puzzles from Goodwill. People are often afraid to do this due to the possibility of missing pieces. It happens now and again, but not often. We’ve had good luck. The key is to look for high quality puzzles, people tend to take better care of them.

Have a great day!

This and That

I found this crazy quilt piece at a thrift shop. It is about 32” square. Not sure what I’ll do with it, but it’s gorgeous!

My sweet friend, Wendy, recently sent this book to me. Wow! What a treasure! I love vintage quilt kits and reading about the history is just fascinating. She even had the author sign it for me. Thank you, Wendy!

I also received a delightful package from dear friend, Ila! I can’t wait to try out these rulers and I already have an idea for that fabric!

We bought this house over two years ago now. I just found this in the guest room closet. This dear little artwork is about two inches tall. It made me smile.

We buy most of our puzzles at Goodwill. This one was really fun, even though it was missing a few bits.

It is wooden. Check out the shapes of the pieces!

Before I go, I wanted to let you know about a couple great sales. First is this one from Connecting Threads .

And this one from AccuQuilt .

Have a great weekend!

Finish It Up Friday ~ 4 Patch

My first finish of 2023 is in the books!

I was inspired by this quilt from Making Scrap Quilts from Stash.

I made mine smaller and left off the border so I could use a single width of fabric for the backing. I used a charm pack and had just one square left over.

Here’s to a productive year! Have a great day!

2022 Bed Quilts

Here are the bed size quilts I made in 2022. The first five are twin size quilts. The last two are both a generous queen size.

Finally Something New

I have so many things to work on, but I grabbed this charm pack to try something new instead.

I think I got this idea from MaryQuilts.com

These are the dies I used from my 8” Qube.

Have a great day!

Design Wall Monday

The first Monday of the new year and I’m spending it in the sewing room. Hooray!

A friend got tired of working on her postage stamp quilt and she sent the blocks to me.

She included these in case I wanted to use them as alternate blocks.

I am starting to think about settings for these.

They will likely hang out on the design wall this week where I can ponder possibilities.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday ~ 2022 Hand Quilted Quilts

Happy New Year! I decided since it is Sunday, I would share some slow stitched quilts from this past year. These are all hand quilted. Enjoy!

I had a few more small hand quilted finishes, but they will be included in my posts about minis.

Before I go, I wanted to thank all of my wonderful friends that read and comment here. I’ve been terrible about responding lately, but hubby heads back to Michigan today so I hope to get back on track in the New Year.

I hope you have a beautiful start to your new year!
