I ended up using the vintage purple solid for the setting triangles. I think it works.

I like it, but not enough to hand quilt. The baskets were machine pieced and the handles were appliqued by machine as well. So I loaded it up on the long arm.

This is getting my wonky crosshatch. It fits these wonky blocks.

Have a great day!
Well would you look at how you rescued those “hot mess” blocks!! I love it.
I love the purple and your quilting really sets it off and covers up the cut off points! Hugs Great job!
Oh my–yes the purple does this quilt just fine–
hugs, di
I just love all your quilts!!! I am a hand quilter or domestic sewing machine quilter. But I DO LOVE the crosshatch you did on your basket quilt!!!
I just cannot figure out how you have time for all these projects!!!!
That appears larger than I thought it was. The close quilting should help it hold together.
It’s a sweet looking quilt! I think the quilting is perfect for it. Hugs,
I’m a sucker for basket quilts anyway but I so like your combining the “old” with the “new” . It finished off so beautifully! Took me years to break that self imposed “can’t machine stitch on something vintage”. Thanks for showing that it can be done successfully!
