Cutting for Something New

I mentioned before that this time of year makes me want to work in 30s prints. I started cutting out another quilt while cutting more pieces for my leader/ender project.

You might as well cut out for more than one quilt at a time!

This is one of the dies I’m using . I’ll also use my 2 1/2 inch square die.

After these were cut, I started in white squares using this die.

Now it is all kitted up and ready when I am.

In the process of digging through all my 30s prints, I found another UFO. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh, well. Have a great day!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

Happy sewing. I just purchased some new dies. I must make an effort to cut up my stash and get sewing this summer. ☺

I always enjoy seeing the pretty little precision cut pieces of 30’s prints neatly stacked in your enamel trays and later paired with solids…and I appreciate that you always include photos of the die you use in the process.

  3. That looks like fun! I look forward to seeing it take shape. And, look, it already has a friend. Maybe those pinwheels can be matching pillows?
