When I was in Arizona, I found a FB Marketplace ad for a vintage quilt top and blocks. For $20, I snapped them up. Here are the blocks.
They range in size from 11 to 12 inches and few of them actually lay flat. But I love the fabrics and I think they will be a fun project. They were all handpieced. Many of the edge triangles appear to be a later vintage.
This is the top I got.
Bambi was helping me. It is also hand pieced. These will go into the someday pile for now. Have a great day!
I love the way you collect these old blocks and tops and breathe life into them. Do you wonder about who made them and why they were never finished as you work on them?
These are gorgeous!
Great bargains!
What a great find! And so nice to see Bambi in a picture.
You’re so good at saving all the old quilts. And then making them look awesome.
I never see cool items like these when I look at our FB marketplace, or when I go to an antique shop. Actually I do have some blocks that I found at an antique shop – I just haven’t pieced them together yet. Thanks for that reminder!
You make such beautiful things with your vintage finds; I’m sure these will be wonderful someday. I don’t have the vision or courage to take such projects on, but it’s inspiring to see what you do with them.
