Comments and Questions

I updated some things and now it seems that I am unable to answer my comments! So frustrating. I decided to would try to answer the recent questions in a post.

I was asked how tall this frame is, it is 31 inches in height. I have a mechanics stool that I brought up from the sewing room to use. I like that it swivels and the height is adjustable.

This is the stencil I use. It is my favorite and it is available from Barb at Fun with Barb.

The pencil is a ceramic chalk pencil from Fons and Porter.

Pam mentioned that she also has a frame like this! How fun! She said it was advertised in Country Woman magazine back in the 90s. I remember hubby buying me a subscription to that magazine. Pam said she didn’t even baste the quilt first, just started in the middle. I really got back into hand quilting when it dawned on my that I could use my long arm to baste. I like to do this since I can quilt from the edges in when I do Baptist Fans.

You can see Winslow here trying to get my attention.

And Willy decided this made a great sleeping spot.

I hope this helps! I do appreciate all your recent comments. Hopefully I can get this straight out soon.

Have a great day!

A great idea to use your longarm machine for the basting and than the handquilting when the quilt needs that! Hhere in the Netherlands older quilters making a queensize ask a shop to do the basting.
And then they do the handquilting because they prefere it. Younger woman do the Quilting at a
good nomal sawingmachine. I started Quilting in 1987 . In 2000 there were a few longarms in 2 shops. Now more. I am 77 now. To late? To expensive?
