Me? Appliqué?

Shocking, right? Well, quilter Jeanna Kimball, recently shared a tutorial on Instagram for her back basting method of appliqué. I tried it out and couldn’t believe the results!

I’m no expert and I’m only comparing myself to myself, but this is the best appliqué I’ve ever done. It motivated me to prep a project I’ve had in the back of my mind for years.

Checkout Jeanna’s Instagram or her web site for more details. Here is a quick rundown of the process on picture form.

This looks to be a perfect travel sewing project.

Have a great day!

I much admire Jeanna’s quilts and have used many of her block designs. I do not do her back basting method but know it works for many quilters.

  2. Katy, I can’t find her on Instagram. Can you share her handle? Or a link to the tutorial on her website? I’d like to watch it. I can’t quite get how you do this, but I’m interested!
