Slow Stitching Sunday and Answers to Questions

Slow progress on my slow stitching.

I had questions yesterday about this photo.

Laura asked how I hang my stockings. I use stocking hangers to hold a curtain rod like this:

Since our family continues to grow, I don’t have to worry about my mantle looking like Swiss Cheese from all the thumb tack holes and I don’t need 15 stocking holders.

And Lori asked about the frame for my vintage flag. I built a frame out of 1 x2 pine boards and painted it black. Then I cut a piece of styrofoam insulation board so that it would fit tightly into the frame. Then I pinned my flag to the foam.

Hope this helps!

Have a wonderful day!

Love the look of those bow tie blocks – so much nicer than with the triangle corners for the ‘knot’ part.

Hi Katy! Fabulous idea for hanging the stockings. There’s always room for one more, right?!! Happy New Year to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
