Slow progress on my slow stitching.

I had questions yesterday about this photo.

Laura asked how I hang my stockings. I use stocking hangers to hold a curtain rod like this:

Since our family continues to grow, I don’t have to worry about my mantle looking like Swiss Cheese from all the thumb tack holes and I don’t need 15 stocking holders.

And Lori asked about the frame for my vintage flag. I built a frame out of 1 x2 pine boards and painted it black. Then I cut a piece of styrofoam insulation board so that it would fit tightly into the frame. Then I pinned my flag to the foam.
