Slow Stitching Sunday

I thought I’d share a hand quilting update with you. I’ve really enjoyed hand quilting this vintage top.

It is hard to get a good photo where the quilting shows though.

This is what the back looks like at this point.

I’m loving it so far!

Have a great day!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

It’s beautiful! This is a perfect example of why I like classic traditional quilts. I enjoy doing hand quilting, and I love longarming, too! I guess I just like quilting.

Wonderful. Thought I was the only one still doing hand quilting. Most of us who have been around a while either can’t afford to pay a longarm quilter or buy our own quilting machine. And, I think hand quilting makes the quilt more valuable as well as gives the piece more “soul,” if you will.
