Selfish Sewing

Other than putting the granny square blocks up on the design wall, I haven’t been in the sewing room all week. I’ve been dealing with the aftermath of the holidays, cleaning and putting away decorations. We had guests for nearly three weeks. I don’t like doing a bunch of housework when guests are here, so it was pretty bad by the time they all left. Last night I decided enough was enough and headed downstairs. I should finish up the granny square top, but I wanted to work on something for me. So I pulled out these fat quarters.

And this die from Accuquilt (By the way, they have some GO! Dies for up to 40% off right now).

And I cut these.

I want to make a quilt to leave in Oscar, my Jeep, for picnics, camping, beach outings etc.

I like the large tumblers; I think they will show off the fabrics nicely.

I hope you all find some time to sew today!

That’s going to be the most perfect Jeep quilt! The fabrics even match Oscar’s colour!

    Hi Katy,
I love the fabrics! I see Jeeps on several different prints and in different colors. How fun is that?! Can’t wait to see this all together . . . and for you to be able to use it on a picnic even more! ~smile~ Roseanne

What a great idea! I’m sure you’ll whip up that quilt in no time flat!

  6. Perfect fabrics for your Jeep quilt. I think Oscar will be delighted to carry that along on your outings! Looking forward to seeing it all done!

  7. What fun! Love your “Oscar”. My daughter had a two door “Oscar Mike” edition (our dog was named Oscar and her husband’s name is Mike) which she just traded in on a 4 door Cherokee for the baby due in 3 weeks!
