We are already midway through the “new” year! I thought it might be a good time to review my UFO list that I posted at the beginning of the year.
1. My envelope blocks.
Finished in January:
2. My Metropolitan Fair churn dash. Still not done!
Done!
4. My Shanendoah sawtooth stars. Still not done and in fact, I have put them away for a while.
5. This has been a UFO for longer than I can remember. It is still undone.
6. This isn’t really my UFO. These are blocks that were signed at Daughter #2’s wedding in 2013.
Done!
7. The more I worked on these album blocks, the less I liked them. I need to make something and get them out of my life.
Okay, not done but, I did get them out of my life by sending them off to Kathy!
8. This is another very long standing UFO. The prints were purchased in Amsterdam in 1998! I started piecing this not long after. Still sitting in a basket.
9. Another hexie hand pieced project.
This has grown, here is the most recent picture.
10. A little black and white project that I set aside because it was so darn tedious! Still not done.
11. Hmmmm….a wee little challenge that I initiated with an online friend.
Done!
12. Calendar blocks from 2010. This too was on a UFO list to finish last year. No progress.
13. Pumpkin seed blocks that I appliqued while traveling last summer. Still in a pile!
14. Dear, dear Jane….I started these blocks in 2009 I believe.Again, no progress.
15. These gorgeous blocks were gifted to me by a bloggy friend last year. I had planned to work on these last month. It still hast happened!
16. I hand pieced these blocks sometime after we moved back from France, which was 14 years ago. They would make a lovely baby quilt for a little girl. No progress on these! Maybe Daughter #1 will have a girl and that will motivate me to finish these!
So 5 of fifteen projects are now off the list! I have a couple new WIPs but nothing that will languish long.
Have you finished any WIPs lately?

I wish I could say that I had finished the album blocks you sent me. But I do have a start on putting on the sashing! There’s another one-day retreat coming up in October, and if I don’t have them done by then (and I doubt if I do as I’m determined to get my Kiss quilt finished and we’ve got at least 2 trips scheduled between now and then), they will be my #1 priority at the retreat. I’m also going to be attending a 4-day retreat in November, so if I don’t get them done in October, they’ll surely be done in November. 😉
You’re making progress. Plus there were other projects completed as well. I like a list as it keeps me focused on what needs to be done — whether they all get done is another story LOL
You are doing GREAT!! That is almost one UFO per month!! AWESOME!! And the projects still in progress are all heirloom worthy!! Gorgeous quilts! You daughter must be thrilled with her wedding quilt! Let’s hope that a baby grand-daughter is in the cards! :o))
Love those Shennandoah Sawtooth Stars, Katy – beautiful!!
Nice progress!! I have lots of UFO’s too but am progressing along.
I’m too afraid to count! But I have started AND finished several quilts this year so I’m getting better at not leaving a trial of UFO’s in my wake. But picking up the old ones… I shall try and take inspiration from you!
33% done – woohoo! You’re making progress!
I haven’t finished any UFO’s this year to my shame. On the plus side though I have no new ones
Great work Katy ! I’m sure you will finish all your UFOs at the end of this year !!
Well, for me, I have …4 works in progress ! Oups !
I think you have made pretty good progress considering there were a few new ones started and finished as well this year. I have at least 15 UFOs and keep telling myself I really should not start anything new but of course along comes something pretty wonderful and I cave…thanks for your update! Have a great day and I know how excited you are about visiting that new little one. I have a brand new grand niece…putting final touches on her quilt to get it on the Gammill.
