Throwback Thursday

I’ve been thinking that I need to do another one of these soon. So I hope you enjoy this look back at this fun baby quilt!

Today I’m sharing my latest baby quilt finish. I’m really pleased with this one! You can find my block tutorial for this here

And here is some oversharing of the quilting, just because I love it!

The backing is an old Ikea print I had in my stash.

I dug through my bin of left over binding pieces to make the scrappy binding.

Have a great day!

The Importance of Play

I haven’t forgotten this. This is my original idea.

I put it up on the design wall and thought, what if I tilt it a bit?

Maybe add that other leftover bit?

Nope. But it does give me another idea for something down the road.

Maybe this bit should be more centered.

Or maybe I should grab my improv strips.

Nope, I don’t care for this either, but it lead me to another idea that I think will work.

And thus, this shows the importance of playing. I have several ideas I would not have come up with had I not done this.

Have a great day!

Scraps

I left a bunch of of scraps here. They all got dumped together while I was trying to consolidate things. Today I decided to sort them out.

I have 2 inch squares.

1 1/2 inch squares.

And an assortment of half and quarter square triangles.

I need to decide on a design that I can use for my next leader/ender project.

Maybe I’ll just sew HSTs together while I think on it.

Have a great day!

Those Leader/Ender Bits

Turns out, I only had 48 of these little HSTs. That’s okay. Time to figure out what to do with them.

I like this broken dishes setting.

But maybe I could turn them into blocks like this. I’m not buying anything and I don’t have many options for fabric to add.

Hmmmm….have to think some more.

Have a great day!

A Little Bit

I used this little piece to practice some machine quilting ideas for a secret project. I washed it when I was done to see how it would look.

I needed a mug rug, so I cut it down and bound it.

It ended up just right. 😊

Here is the back.

Have a great day!

This and That

Mr. Wonderful and I moved Dora to a campsite about 45 minutes from our house.

It is lovely and quiet. We plan to stay there now and again until our house here is sold. The pups love it!

Meanwhile back in our Arizona neighborhood….,

File that under things I never thought I’d worry about!

There has been lots of work going on here at the house. I’m glad I didn’t go crazy with wallpaper. Taking it down is not fun.

These two came and joined me for morning coffee one day.

In other news….

Have a great weekend!

Finish It Up Friday

I almost didn’t finish this. I don’t love it, but I learned a lot making it.

Here’s a look at the back. I finished it with a facing.

I do love the texture and this kind of quilting was enjoyable to do.

I just wish I had done a bit more thinking before I started the quilting.

I’m glad I finished it. I like the composition and I learned a lot, so I guess that makes it a success.

Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday ~ Solids

Since I’ve been playing so much with solids lately, I thought it would be fun to look back at a few others I’ve made in the past. Enjoy!

Sourdough

I’m still working on piecing my Two by Four top together.

But I couldn’t resist playing with the leftovers from that top! Seriously, the scraps from one quilt lead to the next just like sourdough starter!

I think I’d like to add some large borders to this and quilt with perle cotton. The black looks good, but I might see if I can find anything else around here.

And believe it or not, I have more leftovers!

It never ends.

Have a great day!
