After a big push, this top is in the frame. I took an informal poll on Instagram and as a result of that, this is the pantograph that I settled on.
So far, so good.
My drunkards path blocks are coming along as well.
Little by little, things get done. Though I will say, having a retired partner makes sewing time a bit harder to find!

I’ve been in the mood for a hand quilting project. I pulled these two tops out of the stash for consideration.
This one reminds me of peppermint candy. I think it would made a fun Christmas quilt. It needs a few repairs, but very doable. I was thinking about using pink thread, possibly perle cotton, and big Baptist fans.
I’d forgotten I had this next one.

The hand piecing is lovely.
Hmmmm…. I think due to the season, I’m leaning toward the first one. I need to think about it some more.

I’m still working on this here and there.
After making 20 blocks, I decided it was time to stop and take stock. This pile shows all the bits I had left.
I decided I needed 10 more blocks to make a good size lap quilt. Thankfully, I had more of this blue solid. I got cutting and now I’m ready to sew some more.

I cut these pieces out over a year ago. I pieced the top last summer in the RV, and just quilted and bound it this week!
I had a tough time getting the colors to show true. The solid fabric is new (don’t remember what brand/color name). The prints are all vintage.
I had this vintage pink in my stash for the binding.
And I found the vintage fabric on the back at Goodwill.
My neighbor has lovely bougainvillea that I get to enjoy over the fence!
This little quilt finished at about 38 by 50 inches.
My continuous curve quilting needs work. I ended up using a small curved ruler and it took forever.
Now it will hang around in the spare bedroom until I find a home for it.

The Christmas Quilt
If this quilt doesn’t scream Christmas, I don’t know what does! my dear friend, Zenia, gave me this beautiful vintage top. I couldn’t wait to hand quilt it!
The material was quite thin and required a few repairs. It quilted up so nice! I used #5 pearl cotton in a sage green to quilt it.
I used Quilter’s Dream Cotton Request for batting. i was asked if I tested these fabrics for bleeding before I started working on it. I did not. Whether it bled or not, the cried out to be finished. I washed it when it was finished and it didn’t run at all.
It is every bit as soft and cozy as it looks.
I used plain, unbleached muslin one the back.
I came as close as I could to matching the red for the binding. It works well enough.
I love the back!

I’ve been making these as a leader/ender project. It is definitely bright!
I separated out all the light pieces I had cut. They might make a nice baby quilt.

I still have to sew the rows together. It will be 64 inches square before borders.

My dear SIL asked if I would make a Quilt of Valor for a friend of his. That was an easy yes!
I pulled out this panel from Northcott. It’s been around a while. I love it, but I often find panels difficult to use.
I have these fabrics from the same line.
I could skip the panel and make something like this. I made this quilt to honor the years my brother served in the US Coastguard.
