I now remember why I’ve made so few log cabin quilts. They are boring to make.

I took these photos on my bed in the RV. The light is terrible, dark and dreary.

I will persevere. I think subconsciously I kitted this up knowing I would work on it when I had little else available. The cutting of pieces was definitely the most fun part so far.
Cindy left the following comment:
Is it possible for you to take pictures of how you lay it on the dye to get such great variety? Do you cover the whole die with a fat quarter and cut all sizes out of one color? My brain does not compute how to get such great variety using the dyes.
I kitted this up before leaving AZ so I don’t have the die with me in Michigan. But it isn’t any great mystery.

I used 100 light and100 dark fabrics. With that many fabrics, it’s just a matter of shuffling them to get the needed variety. I hope this makes sense.
Also, I only used half of the die as I intended to make 8” blocks, not 12”.
Have a great day!
