Camping

Today I thought I would share a bit more about the campground where we are staying.

We have a great site.

The campground is called Wesleyan Woods and is owned by the Wesleyan Church. There is a river that snakes around the edge of the campground and a small lake with a beach for swimming and a water slide. They have rock climbing, ropes courses, a playground, canoes, and kayaks.

Here is the snack shop with games and WiFi.

Everyone we have met has been wonderful. We are so thankful to have found this place! It is about 35 minutes from Daughter #1’s family.

Have a great day!

Quilting in Progress

Finally! My newest pattern for AccuQuilt is available on their web site!

It seems ages ago that I created this door banner for them. Don’t you love that sewing machine? It’s a new die available from AccuQuilt . I also used the Spool die and Classic Alphabet set.

I do love the spool die.❤️

The irony is that I don’t have a door on my sewing room!

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Vintage Diamonds

Put a fork in it; this top is done!

It feels so good to finally have an almost finish! This quilt is really all about the fabric. I love these prints from the 40s.

This finished up around 34 by 48 inches. I don’t know if I want to straighten the top and bottom or bind it with the zig zag. I’ll decide later.

Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday ~ Vintage Stars

Here we are with yet another throwback post! This was a vintage top that I purchased. I machine quilted it and gave it to a friend. Enjoy!

I totally changed my mind on quilting this and decided on a light custom job.

And it was really fun to quilt! I think I got into a panto rut and it was fun to break out of that.

This plain muslin backing came with the top and I went ahead and used it. I love how well the quilting shows.

Binding came from my stash.

It feels good to finally have a finish. Have a great day!

Woven Stars Progress

I desperately needed a break from house stuff so I started making some of these blocks. Honestly, it took a hot minute to get the hang of foundation paper piecing again.

You can see the first one has two of the same fabrics next to each other. It will stay in. This quilt will have 70 blocks so it shouldn’t be too noticeable.

Have a great day!

Those 9 Patches

Finished! I had a bin of 2 inch squares that I had left here in Michigan and I made as many 9 patches as I could out of them.

And this is what I ended up with.

I had only a few dark squares and quite a few lights leftover.

I don’t know what I’ll do with these, but for now, they are headed back to AZ. I’m packing a box or two of sewing things that I’ve finished working on and plan to send them to Daughter #2 just to get them out of the way.

Have a great day!

Woven Hearts 2

I thought I’d share a bit more about the Woven Hearts Sew Along I’m working on for Fat Quarter Shop . We are using these foundation patterns. They come in a pad with 42 sheets in each pad.

Here is a look at one of the sheets in the pad.

The quilt I’m working on needs 70 blocks. That’s a bunch. I’m going to try to make one here and there so I don’t overdo it with my wrists and hands. This is an extremely accurate method of making these blocks, but the rotary cutting to trim can be painful if I’m not careful.

Have a great day!

T-Shirts

I’m a t-shirt person, always have been. I acquired quite a few while Daughter #2 was serving in the Air Force.

I decided that someday, I will make myself a t-shirt quilt. And I decided to rough cut the pieces I want so I don’t have as big of a pile to carry back to AZ.

Here are some of my favorites.

And that pile takes up much less room!

This and That

The mister’s flowers have been so beautiful this summer!

In an age where blaming others seems to be a national sport, I thought this was a good reminder.

My pretty girl. ❤️

Oscar had surgery last week.

Mr. Wonderful did the necessary modifications so we can flat tow him behind our RV, Dora.

Have a great day!

Finished!

Here is a photo from moving day (week?).

We closed on Wednesday. It is time for another family to enjoy this beautiful home.

If anyone needs me, I’ll be napping. 😴

Have a great day!
