I’ve been thinking….

……yes, I know that can be dangerous! Anyway, I’ve been longarm quilting for about seven years now. Lately, I’ve been thinking about starting to long arm quilt for others. I have a few friends I’ve quilted for and I do quite a few tops for Quilts of Valor, but mostly, I just quilt for myself.

There seem to be quite a few long arm quilters in my area, but there may not be in yours. So I was thinking of offering quilting by mail. Clients can send their tops and I will mail back the quilted quilt.

I’m thinking about trying this out on a very limited basis to see how it goes and work out the kinks. I would most likely offer only edge to edge designs to begin with.

Obviously, I need to come up with prices, options, shipping details etc.

But I guess the point of this post, is to ask if you think there would be any interest in this?

If any of you have had quilts quilted by others, what did you like? What didn’t you like?

Anything you’d love to tell your long arm quilter?

I would so appreciate any and all comments as I consider this.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Pinwheel Baby

With the way this week has gone, I sure am glad I got this done last week.

Once again, I used the striped binding.

And the same backing.

Here are the two “fraternal twin ” quilts.

By the way, hubby came home from the hospital Tuesday evening and he is feeling better every day. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Have a great day!

Did you guess?

I am roughly following Lori’s pattern for her Cheddar Cheese and Crackers quilt.

I made a bit of progress in between trips to the hospital.

I hope to get the rest of the blocks done today. Have a good one!

Can you guess….

…..where I’m headed with this?

There is a little quilt that has been on my bucket list for a while now. I finally decided to get cutting. I used these dies.

And my scribbles.

I’ll give you a hint, this was from a Quilt Along hosted by one of my favorite bloggers a few years ago.

I love her QALs and she is hosting another! Head over to visit Lori at Humble Quilts for details.

Have a great day!

Pinwheels

Want in on a secret? I pieced and quilted the pinwheel quilt last week. And it’s a good thing, as I don’t have much to show for this week!

I loaded up enough backing and batting to quilt it right after the quilt I shared last Friday.

It worked out perfectly and took less time than doing them separately.

Here is the panto I used on this one. Link to Urban Elementz is in the side bar.

I’ll share this finish on Friday.

Thanks for all of your kind messages. I’m hoping hubby will be able to come home today. Have a good one!

Design Wall Monday

I mentioned last week that I cut pieces out of scraps left from the quilt I showed on Friday. I also cut my background pieces.

This is the Accuquilt die I used. And this is the pinwheel block I ended up with. I got this idea from an Instagram post by @janettebinder who’s is also a blog reader!

These blocks are fun and quick, just the thing to get me out of my slump! Mine finish at 8 inches.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching

Make that, very slow stitching. I ended up taking Mr. Wonderful back to ER yesterday. A week passed since his surgery and he wasn’t feeling any better. Turns out he has a nasty infection. They admitted him and I’m headed up there to see him very soon.

First, I plan to drink a cup of coffee and stitch this one flower.

Have a great day!

This and That

The roller coaster continues here as hubby ended up in ER last weekend. He’s still on the mend from surgery, so I’ve been playing nurse. Here are some thises and thats from my week.

After 35 years, my engagement ring broke! Happily, it happened at home and I didn’t lose it. My nearly 100 year old wedding ring from my grandma is still going strong.

Daughter #1 and boys looked after the pups for a few days. Here is E2 feeding mine and hers.

E3 was here one day last week. He loves hats and shoes!

Here is E1 in his school room at home.

I found this in the yard yesterday. I’m not ready! I love fall, I just don’t like winter that follows.

I dream of spending my winters here.

My current reading material:

Have a great weekend!
