Bed Quilts 2021

I love making big quilts! Here are the big ones finished this past year.

I don’t know that I ever shared this next one here. I made it for an Accuquilt blog post.

Have a great day!

Baby Quilts 2021

I didn’t make as many baby quilts this year. I quite like the ones I finished though. Take a look.

Baby quilts are so great for trying out ideas without committing to a big quilt. I need to do more this next year.

Have a great day!

Hand Quilting 2021

I love hand quilting vintage tops and managed to finish several this way last year. The first is my favorite!

The next one ended up being a total reconstruction job; but I enjoyed doing it and it turned out well.

That last one took way longer than it should have. I was very happy when it was done.

For some reason, I seem to get more hand quilting done in Michigan than I do in Arizona. I’m not sure why.

Before I go, I wanted to leave the Link to this Accuquilt Live event happening tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Merry Christmas

Hope of all hopes, dream of our dreams,
a child is born, sweet-breathed; a son is given to us: a living gift.
And even now, with tiny features and dewy hair, He is great.
The power of leadership, and the weight of authority, will rest on His shoulders.
His name? His name we’ll know in many ways—
He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Dear Father everlasting, ever-present never-failing,
Master of Wholeness, Prince of Peace.
His leadership will bring such prosperity as you’ve never seen before—
    sustainable peace for all time.
This child: God’s promise to David—a throne forever, among us,
to restore sound leadership that cannot be perverted or shaken.
He will ensure justice without fail and absolute equity. Always.
The intense passion of the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies,
    will carry this to completion

Finish It Up Thursday ~ A Diamond in the Rough

Finally! This little quilt took me way longer than it should have.

As a reminder, this is what it looked like before I took it apart to hand quilt it.

My quilting isn’t great, but it’s done. I like it better quilted than tied, as it was before.

Here is the back.

I had planned to hand wash this, but I was so sick of the thing, I threw it in the washer. It came out just fine!

Most of the stains came out. The worst one remains, but it is much better than it was.

Have a great day!

Quilts of Valor 2021

It’s that time of year when I start looking back at what I’ve accomplished in the sewing room over that past year. Today, I’m looking at Quilts of Valor. I completed two this year and both have been awarded.

I also recently finished this quilt and it will probably end up as a QOV also.

In addition , I longarm quilted 29 tops for my Stitching Sisters QOV group.

I would like to piece and quilt a few more tops in the coming year.

Have a great day!

Leftovers

I was casting about in the sewing room, looking for a small project to do, and I found these.

These are leftovers from this disaster. I played around with them a bit, trying to get inspired.

There is definitely some potential here. I’m going to have to think on it some more though.

By the way, here are the Accuquilt dies I used to make these flying geese. They will finish at 1 1/2 by 3 inches.

Have a great day!

PS In case you didn’t know, there is a great Accuquilt Live event going on today.

Christmas Decorating

I kept my decorating very simple this year. We hung the stockings.

And trimmed the tree.

And Big L helped me dress up Jack.

And here’s a little something that made me laugh way too hard!

Have a great day!
