Finish It Up Thursday ~ A Diamond in the Rough

Finally! This little quilt took me way longer than it should have.

As a reminder, this is what it looked like before I took it apart to hand quilt it.

My quilting isn’t great, but it’s done. I like it better quilted than tied, as it was before.

Here is the back.

I had planned to hand wash this, but I was so sick of the thing, I threw it in the washer. It came out just fine!

Most of the stains came out. The worst one remains, but it is much better than it was.

Have a great day!

You did a beautiful job with the hand quilting.

What date would you put on the fabrics?

with the amount of quilting and texture that you put into this quilt, we would never have known that you were sick of it if you hadn’t told. i think it is fabulous. like a silk purse from a sow’s ear (or something like that). i like the colors and the repetition of the blocks. really makes a statement now. good job!!!! patti in still cold florida

  4. It is absolutely gorgeous. I agree that the hand quilting looks much better. I have a “hand wash” setting on my washing machine I totally trust. Gotta love a washed quilt – so homey!

Well, it was certainly worth it…a STUNNING quilt….make me want to use the color palette on my next quilt….
