Finish It Up Friday ~ Hattie’s Choice

Finally done! I don’t know why I procrastinated at every step with this, but I did.

I love how the quilting turned out and I really enjoyed doing it once I finally started.

Here’s the back.

Notice anything wrong?

Maybe here?

Yep, grabbed the wrong white for half the blocks. It wasn’t at all noticeable until I took the finished quilt outside.

Ah well….finished is better than perfect.

Have a great day!

The variety is great to help make it more scrappy and authentic.

I love all your quilts but this one is a favorite of mine. It has so much energy. I would not worry about the different whites. I see quilts all the time where the background fabric is a little different in some blocks. Must be a common mistake.

  3. Anyone who is looking that closely is already impressed.

It’s gorgeous! 🤩🤩 I just sent you my address via DM. 😉

It’s AMAZING, Katie. I still don’t see the error even after you pointed it out. Again, it’s fantastic.

  6. So pretty! I wouldn’t have noticed the difference in the whites. We’ll just keep it our secret and no one else will know (giggle).

  7. Helen says:

It’s lovely and I wouldn’t have picked up there was a mistake without you saying so. There are enough blocks with the different white to make it look intentional

  8. I’m glad you left the blocks edge to edge without sashing or alternate blocks. The secondary pattern is wonderful.

The wrong ‘white’ here and there–just gives it more character–right???
    Beautiful quilt–hugs, di

One question did you freehand the border or is that a template? I have to start practicing freehand quilting. Love your quilting designs on this quilt too!

  12. 123terri says:

Looks like you planned it that way, as it’s all scrappy blocks. I thought that it was supposed to be like that. I love it!!!

  13. Sandi says:

It’s gorgeous!! The mixed whites add to the old time feel of the quilt. The quilting is beautiful. Hugs,

  14. Paula says:

Wow! I couldn’t picture the quilt when I saw the individual blocks, but I really like the finished design. It has such great movement. No one will realize the two whites were a mistake unless you tell them. Thanks for sharing this great quilt.

  15. I didn’t even notice the different shades of white, I thought it was part of the scrappy design!!! This pattern is so pretty, looks like stars twinkling! I love it!!

  16. Kelly says:

I hadn’t noticed but I think it gives the quilt some depth. I really like this quilt.
Thanks for the recommendation of Clarkson’s Farm. We loved it.

  17. Carmen N says:

What a beautiful quilt! Your color and fabric choices really make this block shine. I also think using different whites adds interest to the quilt. I love it!!
