If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen most of this already. A couple weeks ago, I took a free online class from Emily at Em’s Scrapbag. She shared a free pattern for her Jumbo Scrappy Star.

I have lots of solid scraps and decided to play along. It was a bit harder than I thought!

I started with the design above and then totally scrapped it and tried the one below.

I went back to the star, with a different layout.

Finally, I just sewed it together with this Kona Steel that I bought for a different project.

I’m mostly happy with this. I think I’ll love it after quilting.
Have a great day!
You did not say what size this at this time.
That’s really pretty and I like the different shapes in it. Hugs,
Very cool to have a peek at your thought process! Which die made the 4 matching pink blocks? Love it. Is there a chart or did you simply know what size to make the outside set in triangles to the star points? Thank you,Cindy.

I love it !! It will be gorgeous quilted.
I have decided now that I need some Kona Steel in my stash. Thank you (wink). Your star is just dazzling – I love the bright colors against that background! Cannot wait to see how you quilt this one!
I like your take on the Scrappy Star. And the final quilting will change what it looks like as a “top”
