I finally quilted this small bit. It would have looked better with a facing, but I wanted to try matching the binding to the piecing. It worked out pretty well even the the gray of the binding is different than the piecing. I’m calling it a design decision.
I’m not quite as happy with the quilting, but I learned a lot there too. I have a pattern board that I used for quilting this. My machine is very heavy and I have to keep a good grip on that board or the momentum of the machine can move it, messing up the alignment.
I do like the design though. I ended up using this piece I bought years ago in Hawaii for the back. I guess this is the vacation side.
I’m not sure what I’ll do with this now. I sure learned a lot from it.
Have a great day!
Hmmm. This turned out very well. The back is amazing. Another finish. Excellent.
It looks great…binding and quilting. Well done.
I like this, very much. Those learning quilts are something a bit special, right? It moves us forward in our craft.
