Slow Stitching Sunday ~ Repairs

I got a lot of stitching done on this vintage top while we were traveling. But as I was quilting, I found a few more fabrics that needed replacing.

I left those unquilted.

Today, I’m going to fix those spots and fill in the quilting there.

I have 75% of this quilted. I hope to finish by the end of this month.

Have a great day!

  1. Wow, I’m in awe of your tiny even stitches. What an amazing collection of fabrics in this old quilt!

Your slow stitching looks wonderful! I am following this project with interest as I recently was given a beautiful vintage (30s) handpieced top that I want to hand quilt. Can you please tell me what type of thread you are using, and what is your backing? Were there any other reparations you needed to make on this quilt? Thanks in advance for your help.

Your quilting looks beautiful! Looking forward to see it finished.
    Have a good week!

  4. Hand quilting does give the opportunity to take a closer look. How large is the entire quilt?
