Slow Stitching Sunday ~ Binding

I finished quilting the Churn Dash and I’m on to the binding!

I decided to use up some leftover binding pieces and make it scrappy.

I did much of the hand stitching over Christmas while watching movies. Hubby had two surgeries last week, so our holiday was pretty low key.

Someone asked how I resolved the border corners with this quilting design. I’ve done different things in the past, but this time, I just ran the design off the edges at the top and bottom.

I hope this makes sense.

Have a great day!

  1. Looks great! I haven’t done one of those scrappy bindings in a while. Maybe it’s time!

  2. Hope Mr. Wonderful recovers quickly and without any issues. Love the idea of a scrappy binding too! Great way to wrap up that year with a quilt finish!

  3. I love binding. It might be my favorite part. Until then, it is just a lot of fabric, but, once it is bound, it is truly a quilt.
