I purchased this fun quilt top back in February. Since I finished quilting the last vintage top this weekend, I started thinking about doing this one next.

I’ve never done big stitch quilting with perle cotton, but I’m thinking of trying it out on this. I have this ball of vintage pearl cotton that I love.

Check out the price!

But this is all I have and I’m certain it isn’t enough. It may be too thick anyway. I’ve looked online and can’t seem to find any. Perhaps a solid color would be better on this busy top anyway. Looks like I will do a bit of shopping today. I plan to use this stencil, available from Fun with Barb.

First though, I’m off to Youtube to watch a few tutorials. Have a great day!

Have fun. I like #5 and #8 size perle cotton. #5 is definitely a bit thicker but not unmanageable.
That is a fun quilt top! Looking forward to seeing it finished!
What a cheerful top!
I love the quilt top and this is the perfect thread for it! Very fun project! Can’t wait to see how you like big stitching on this colourful energetic quilt!
Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts recently did some tutorials on big stitch hand quilting.
