A Diversion

Barb at Fun with Barb has been making some lovely string quilts. I was quite taken with her Butterscotch and Blue and thought I’d dig through some scraps to make a mini version.

I ended up with these three strips. I could have made more, but I didn’t feel Ike I had enough variety without cutting into fat quarters and such. I was playing hooky from the t-shirt quilt as it was!

I tried a few different backgrounds.

I’m going to go work on the t-shirt quilt while I think about it.

Have a great day!

Love that cheddar background in the third photo. I’d love to find some yardage in just that shade, seems like it is almost always perfect with deep blues.

  2. Oh delicious! I love it in mini form! I made one too for a friend. Barb is such an inspiration! You cheddar choice was perfect!

I usually hate brown! But there is something sweet about the background in #2. It supports the blues without being brassy about it.

This is a fun little quilt . I was just thinking I need to do something scrappy with fabric. Thanks for posting

Love your quilts! I hope to start a string quilt momentarily. What are the containers your fabric is in? They are intriguing.
