Looking ahead to February projects, I decided to pull this UFO out next.
I’ve been debating for months on how to proceed with this. I finally decided to add more background to get it up to the finished size I wanted. Perhaps now I can better visualize how to fill the borders.
Yes, I’m aware that the borders do not match the center background. If you look closely, you can see that the center is composed of muslin scraps. It all feels in keeping with the message.
I’m thinking about doing a simple vine in the border. Maybe something like this.
We shall see.
Have a great day!
LOVE this quilt! And yes….the vine applique works very well! Looking forward to seeing more!
It looks great so far. I too like the idea of using different fabrics.
It looks great!
I love this! A friend of mine did a quilt called Gather Up The Fragments also. What a great theme. Hers was very different than yours though. The different backgrounds are so perfect for the message. I really like the vine border idea, you could really play it up with the fragments idea with irregular size/shape, shades of the red leaves.
Very interesting. On first glance my thought was, “what a great idea to use different white fabrics”. “It adds interest”. I particularly like the block like letters you chose as it compliments the bold color nicely.
