I know, you’ve seen this before. But since then, I washed it. It crinkled nicely, and it also bled profusely.
You can really see the bleeding on the back. I washed it again with color catchers and a bit more Dawn dishwashing liquid.
The top is much brighter. The back still shows bleeding, but it’s better.
Am I bothered? Not at all! This is just part of working with vintage textiles. I love it just as much. I just thought you’d be interested.
Have a great day!
LOVE it!
It’s beautiful and your quilting is lovely. Hugs,
It’s such a striking cool quilt! Too bad about the bleed, but, so be it. I’m glad you are easy going about it. I would be too!
It turned out to be such a sweet little quilt. Bleeding fabric is always so frustrating but I don’t know how it can be avoided completely.
I have heard of that happening, but had never seen it. Guess the lesson is to avoid light colored backings with deep blues and reds?
It turned out beautifully. Its frustrating when bleeds happen, but not so important for this little charmer.
At least it didn’t bleed visibly on the front, as far as I can see. It just adds personality to the quilt, right? Enjoy it – it’s lovely!
