It has been A while since I shared progress on this project. That is because there hasn’t been any! I finally got back to it this weekend. My goal is to make ten per month. This is my current stack of 60.
I use “ugly” fabrics as my foundation and flip and sew strings from my dad’s shirts onto the foundation.
Then I trim the excess to the size of the foundation.
Oops! Looks like I had a little hitchhiker scrap. đŸ˜„
I want this quilt done before Christmas. It will be a gift to myself. Have a great day!

very nice.. I really enjoy my memory quilts…xo
What a special present to yourself. You should wrap it up and put it under the tree for sure!
love the hitchhiker!
I love them! In order to get all my blocks done I’ll have to do a lot every day! Yikes!
Hi Katy! HAHA to the hitchhiker scrap. I was looking all over for the ugly fabric . . . but I get it. That’s a great idea. You don’t find it to be too heavy when you layer batting and a non-ugly backing fabric? Maybe you select a thinner batting, too. ~smile~ Roseanne
I love your blocks! String quilts are my favorite. About to start a new one for a future Grand DIL (well, I’m keeping my fingers crossed as I like her so much!)
Really nice string blocks! Special to use your Dad’s shirts.
