So I finished this little piece with a facing.
It didn’t feel done. I decided to add some big stitch quilting, but couldn’t find my perle cotton. Ugh. Then I remembered a box of top stitching thread I picked up somewhere and decided to use that.
I liked the way it looked, but the thread seemed too thin so I redid it with doubled thread.
Now the cheap fabric I used doesn’t bother me. I just can’t stop stitching! I originally intended to just hand stitch in a few areas. A few has turned into nearly all!
Daughter #3 asked if I could make a bed quilt like this……gonna have to think about that one!
Have a great day!
This is really awesome! I love the effect you created!
I love the hand stitching, it makes all the difference! I love it. Hugs,
Love the hand-stitching! I can’t imagine making a full size quilt (though I think you have it in you).
I wonder how it would look if in some areas you stitched a motif. The straight hand-stitched lines could come right up to it, and the quilted lines would act like a printed canvas perhaps?
What fun! I like it, but I can also understand your hesitation on making a bed-sized one!
Really like the big stitch quilting. To me, it brought the piece to life. Diane
